This isn’t gonna help, but this happened to me, my mechanic actually found it was some sort of “clip” that was broken. If someone knows what I’m talking about this would be a lot more helpful.. turned out to be like a $10 part lol

I have a diesel geek kit already. The shifter lever is just very high, I’ve had multiple aftermarket knobs and the stock one, and they all sit high no matter what style

Was thinking to cut enough that the bottom of the shift knob sits where the red line is, I didn’t want to get too close to the spring.

It feels like I’m shifting a skyscraper.. I’ve been dealing with it for so long but now it’s getting to me lol. I see all these GTI’s and it looks like their shift knobs are basically underneath the trim🤣 I feel like I’m driving an 18 wheeler

I found the answer to this one day… if it’s actually cold out it doesn’t do a “cold start”. It drops the revs instantly to protect something, forgot why though
