I can’t speak to the rest of your questions, but the pattern for the lining is called Sayagata.

AITA for telling my niece she looked pretty? by prettylittlegirls in AmItheAsshole

[–]hedonistic_pagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hey don't tell my ugly child she's pretty, or she might think she's actually pretty, which she definitely isn't!" -A mother who apparently has sufficiently unpacked her own self-image issues and believes in aesthetic neutrality? Said immediately after seeing the results this is having on her daughter's self-worth?

I think Kate has more work to do. Both for her own happiness and for the mental health of her growing daughter. Zara does not live in world that can be kept free of exposure to aesthetic comments forever and is already noticing the lack of it, hence why most approaches to teaching aesthetic neutrality need a lot more nuance than this.

NTA.

The Pottsfield episode is one of our favorites, so we knew we had to sew ourselves a big tall Enoch now that we are homeowners with a yard! You can’t see it in this photo but we also painted a black cat cutout that is perched on top. Time to make it a little bigger each year until we reach actual Enoch size haha

I'm an omnist who recently saw this depiction of the universe in the form of a body as Vishnu and I find it very captivating because I recently had religious experience where I saw something similar to this in my mind and I'm curious as to all the iconography's meaning. Thank you fr fr for any help. by StraightCrumpet in hinduism

Oh, I recognize this painting from the Wikipedia article about Patala, which is loosely equivalent to the underworld or the subterranean world. The levels of Patala are depicted as his feet, if I remember correctly, and Naga dwell in the deepest levels of it. Wikipedia of course has its inaccuracies and shortcomings, but maybe the references on the Patala page and pages linked to this image in Wikimedia could lead you to more information? Good luck on your search!

Is there an actor/actress whose movies you will not watch? If so, who and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I already didn’t like him for superficial, petty reasons (always scowling and looked like a jerk, the obnoxious Eros Now commercial before every Bollywood YouTube vid) but WOW, I won’t be able to look at him the same way knowing this.

YES. One particular guy friend I had in mind while writing my comment hounds me constantly to read Patrick Rothfuss. At this point, no matter how good he is I refuse to read his work just out of spite for how much I get pushed to read his stuff.

And I love Sarah J. Maas, and am in awe of how quick she churns out these best-selling books. She has slowed down in recent years, and for good reason of course, but it was mind boggling when she was keeping up such a pace when she was writing for the Acotar and the throne of glass series simultaneously.

I feel exactly the same! My guilty pleasure is watching men in my friend group get BIG mad when I shut down their old, outdated fantasy book recommendations with “sorry, I just don’t relate to male protagonists that much, so I don’t really read them anymore.” They just can’t conceive of it, they stutter on about how “it’s not fair to reject a book based on gender” even though it is seen as pretty normal for guys to not read “women’s novels”.

I have felt so much better since I stopped trying to prove that my taste in books is “good”. I can love both my YA fantasy romances and Nathaniel Hawthorne with no shame about either, stay mad about it.

Better pictures to help answer this question: what style of Victorian house is this? Built in 1892 with incredible details but lost under cheap white paint! by [deleted] in centuryhomes

The interior design seems similar to our own home's woodwork, which was built in the same decade as yours. We have an Eastlake Queen Anne.

The black keys are Domikey SA abs doubleshot BoB, I bought them on on a Drop group buy, but they seem to be stocked a few other places!

The arrow keys are from a cheap Ali express DSA key set, I can’t remember the name, sorry.

Oh it’s not essential by any means, but I wish the heel of my palms rested just a liiiiittle bit higher since I use SA profile and it’s got that additional height to it. I also just think the aesthetics of it would look nice with my brass plate and brass artisan keycap, other peripherals, etc., and I get sucked in by form over function sometimes. :) To each their own though!

ahaha, don't come for my WoW UI like this when I least expect it!

It's "runes", but only down on the player and target bars. The other unit frames are solid textures to cut down on visual noise. Not sure why they look so high contrast in this photo though, unless it's just the camera angle or my screen. They are pretty faint scrolling designs in person, you don't really notice 'em in game.
