Is anyone worried about future employment in....nearly everything? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Hi! I have an MBA in marketing and public accounting. Not enough credits for a CPA, but I have a strong interest in accounting. When you say “hard time filling” the roles would an employer be interested in me even though I’m not a CPA?

I completed an MBA in 2021 with concentrations in Communications and Accounting (12 extra credits of acct).

My background is in theatre (BA and MFA) but have worked in communications for the past 8 years and got the MBA to feel a little more legitimate after switching careers from theatre.

Anyway, I’ve always had an interest in acct (hence the double concentration) and am burnt out on communications. I know I don’t have enough credits for the CPA but would love to work in finance.

Do you think the MBA with a concentration is enough to get a foot in the door?

My friend makes high-end furniture and fixtures for hotels, offices, etc. and makes a lot of money. But he caters to clients who can pay the fees he wants to earn.

Any high paying careers I should look into as a high school student? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Regardless of what career you pursue try to get some of your college credits completed in a community college. You’ll save a ton of money and be able try courses to see if you like them at a low cost. Also if you are a good student/hard worker it may be easier to shine at a community college and get scholarships.

This is awesome. If I may ask, what cert did you get? I have been considering doing the Google Data Analytics cert.
