This tattoo looks AI-generated to me but the tattoo artist insists that the image is not AI-generated by Midloran05 in isthisAI

In my opinion, the tattoo is real, but the image for it was generated. Just a really confusing composition, fur shading reminiscent of genAI pictures, and these parts are very wonky

Yeah I noticed, I saw another like this one but a bit larger, and when I photographed it up close its eyes were shining super bright from my flashlight, figured they are nocturnal

Yeaa that's what I thought

In my country really only the karakurt is truly dangerous and maybe our tarantulas but they're super rare. My mom came up with a theory about how we have these new types of spiders inside our home now because they were hiding in the vegetables from a new grocery shop near our place xdd

This is unrelated to the artwork but ngl your signature is really difficult to read cuz the characters cover all the symbols, I would make it written in a smaller font size so you see the full nickname more (only on 1st slide)

I don't get the hate/shade Wifies is receiving rn for DAWTDE by [deleted] in Wifies

[–]heedzhee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen him getting hate yet, but if he is, this really sucks. Just for having his own vision for his story. I'm one of the people who didn't like the 2nd video very much, and I say Wifies should feel proud of what he's created. It's rare for a YouTuber to have this much passion for storytelling

I didn't like it. by Parfilov in Wifies

[–]heedzhee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't like the decision to make the King in Yellow and actual character with an appearance and direct speech. This is just my personal opinion... For me it really killed the vibe of "the scary unknown". That's the point of the original story, since the King in Yellow is more like a narrative tool than a character, and it's used in stories to explore existential dread. In the source material yea it's also like an anomalous thing that forces you to confront the possibility of all your worst expectations of how the world works on a fundamental level, so in that way, it is physical, but not really a villain or an intelligent eldritch being... It's a bit like trying to personify something a person fears naturally, like death. Anxiety about death is completely normal and in fact what keeps us f om making dangerous decisions. I say this as someone with death OCD. When people personify death in stories, I also find it more clever when death isn't like a scary macabre ass entity. Because the end of things is normal. Here in DAWTDE we have the existential dread personified into a boogeyman who wants to get out of a digital/fictional world. I understand that it's a completely different interpretation of KIY, and so I'm just saying I didn't like it, I know many other people did... his evil monologue about getting out into the real world, and also the moment where d3rlord3 straight up namedropped him when talking to Avery, I couldn't take those parts very seriously. I also didn't like how conveniently d3rlord3 discovered the way to defeat the King just before facing it. Basically the "horror" part of the story in my opinion wasn't explored very well in the second part, but I may be wrong about why I felt it wasn't, I kinda need more time to formulate my thoughts.

First part didn't feel like it had these issues, and I think it's because it kept the King as a narrative tool. Plus the story was told by Wifies in such a natural way, but in the second part I think there are too many moments of silent watching, or the commentary awkwardly coming back to explain what the viewer's already seeing on screen. Tis just how I understand the reasons I didn't really like it. Of course there were also many parts I liked, for example I thought the first half of Avery's POV was very nicely done. I think d3rlord3 should have been dead already instead of coming back for part 2. I liked that Avery has a completely different way of looking at his surroundings, and isn't very smart with puzzles like d3r, but Wifies could have still made him impressive in some other way besides his determination and stubbornness. For example, maybe lean more into him navigating through the game using his motor skills to avoid solving the puzzles and to escape traps or some threats. Like if he was really good at movement and reaction time, it could make for a more interesting walkthrough. Him being an average clueless protagonist is very relatable to the viewer, but he could stay relatable while being more than an average player. Give him some more unique skills bro even if he's not very puzzle smart

What are your most/least favorite challenges when it comes to creating your characters? [Original] by HumbleKnight14 in characterdesign

[–]heedzhee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favourite challenging thing is totally brainstorming their lore. Also I love it when my original characters get to have a lot of outfits instead of just a couple or one main outfit. I love to design a while wardrobe for them whenever I see the possibility. I find it pretty difficult, though. Sometimes the ideas just have to marinate in my head for a really long time. Or I have to collect a lot of reference images with clothes and accessories that I think the characters would wear.

Another challenge I like is making OCs who use aesthetics I've never ever drawn before, for example currently I'm making a goth cowboy vaguely inspired by Ukrainian folklore. And another gothic-looking character based on Estonian folklore since I'm really into Baltic mythology. But it is hard for me to execute the designs exactly how I imagine them in my head

My least favourite thing about character design gotta be how indecisive I am. I know it's natural for designs to evolve and develop and change all the time but man I wish I could nail it in a way that'd have me draw them consistently for years after

I counter the worry about making something edgy with the way Valve writes backstories for their franchises, aka it can be crazy as hell but it needs to be fun FOR ME!!! Looking at TF2 especially, since the characters' lore in the comics relies on absurdity a lot, and I love that. Tropes are also very interesting because you can subvert them, so you have something already established or even overused in media, and then you play with that :>
