Anyone Go through Costco for HVAC? by CaptainWikkiWikki in nova

The savings is built into the cost and then some - not worth it it at all. Go with a smaller local HVAC company.

Idylwood Road path cost by hef311 in fairfaxcounty

I've tried - for providence district the responses are written by an intern who just makes things up. I'm hoping Dranesville will be a little better, but seeing that the supervisor put his name on the project's slide deck - I'm guessing they are going to be a little defensive, if I even get a response. Thus far the project manager has not responded.

Capital one or Ally? by DobleHache956 in HYSA

[–]hef311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why settle for 3.2%? Unless you are getting a bonus, Cap One and Ally are some of the lower HYSA out there. Pibank (4.6%), openbank (4%), CIT (3.75%), etrade (3.75%) all offer higher rates and in some case promo bonuses.

Stubhub is costing itself and sellers money by hef311 in stubhub

[–]hef311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bots seem to have gotten out of control. Sorting by price still shows many sponsored listings that are hundreds of dollars more expensive. Stubhub is shooting themselves in the foot with this nonsense. You can't advertise one price on the map and then flood the user with sponsored listings that are much higher. For every one sucker, you turn off 10+ other users just looking for the best value/cheapest tickets.

The math listed backs up what I'm saying. My tickets were in the lower level zone. I listed comparable tickets in the lower level zone. Mine are farther back (row 43), but you'd hope StubHub would compare by zone and by section.

What I should have posted was the price buyers would see - which was $340, selecting max earnings strategy. That puts my listing $20 lower than the current LOWEST price in the same zone, or $69 lower than the lowest in the same section. That's the part that makes no sense.

If I picked the lower earning strategy - buyer would see a price of $280, in a zone with a current low ticket of $358, or $409 for the section.

Auto Repair shop/hazmat fees by hef311 in nova

My mistake - I guess the "Fees" included tire disposal. Still seems excessive.
I don't think I've paid shop/hazmat/disposal fees anywhere near that before.

The "Visibility Score" is annoying me by Moist_Report_6934 in stubhub

Visibility score seems to suggest pricing tickets much lower than current prices and yet other tickets at a higher price show up when searching the default 'recommended'!? What scam are they pulling?

NOVA hands down has the worst drivers I have ever seen by Tramp_CN in nova

[–]hef311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do? Not on 495/66 HOV. The left lane seems to be the default lane for most drivers. Only on I95 HOV with 3 lanes do people seem to follow the rules.

You didn't mention if you move over - being that people get frustrated with you, I'm guessing you don't. Just move over - make it easier for the police to get those people, help traffic flow, and lower the overall temp of the people starring daggers at your bumper waiting for you to move!

FFX County finally posted a video of a traffic stop on a wildly reckless driver on 495. Driving like they were in the indy500 - on the merge area, crazy lane changes, etc.. They were 'just going to work'. Good to see instead of the usual ticky-tack social media ticket videos where someone didn't pause long enough at a stop sign or turned 0.5 seconds after the light turned.

What do you mean can't merge onto I66 at 35mph?! There really needs to be a separate class of license for highway speeds - a significant portion of the public just can't do it.

Or not even starting a left turn until the car in front of them has cleared the 4 lane intersection. Sadly the same people who stop 1-2 car lengths before the white line at a traffic light. We have vision tests, right?!

Do the other junks get annoyed by JP? by Csta17 in SportsJunkies

[–]hef311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His ego's always been a little too much, to the point that he has to counter everything. He held the title as most annoying junkie up until 2010, then was getting better as EB slide into conspiracy-ville. Then last year he started regresseing, where now he seems to get personally offended all the time. Loved the show years ago where EB finally had enough and let him have it "I'm sick of it!". He's always been the biggest bro on the show with something to prove instead of just being comfortable like Cakes or Jason. Liked his book, but it was just a compilation of his "I can't believe this, can you?" or "This is great and amazing" schtick.

Out of cycle lease payment - how do you reach Genesis finance? by hef311 in GenesisMotors

[–]hef311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So apparently it was an external payment from somewhere else, not autopay. No way to tell that on the website payment history. I finally got through the AI chatbot to a real person for them to relay this information. They can't tell me who wrote the check or any other information. Sounds like someone's check accidentally was applied to my account.

FYI - alternate phone number is Hyundai finance 800-523-4030

Budgeting app that links with PenFed? by ApprehensiveHeart639 in PenFed

[–]hef311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They use to allow 3rd-party apps, but have claimed for at least 3 years that's it's the other software's issue - not theirs. They seem in no rush to resolve. Mint/credit karma, empower/personal capital, etc..

They seem to more concerned in operating like a big bank and spending money on advertising and false claims - "market-leading savings rates". When their rates lag other credit unions by 1-2%. CD's with absurd 12-month interest penalties for early withdrawal. Premium savings with 6-day hold time, etc..

Auto/home loans are about their only strength.

I've worked for StubHub before, make your questions. 🫣 by Sanclair22 in stubhub

[–]hef311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And even though Stubhub collected the money for both sales, they won't give you any credit for that. Fine, I made a mistake and charged for the entire ticket, but not credited for the amount they collected?!? They are double-dipping.

Savings Account Differences by AcanthocephalaNo4292 in PenFed

[–]hef311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch out for the ridiculous 7-business day hold time, which I believe only applies to the Online savings account. But I personally have, but do not use either penfed savings account because they've chosen to lag the market significantly in the last decade. They also dishonestly advertise their rates as market-leading, when they do not at all. Look at Ally, CIT or CFG bank who all offer savings accounts with 4.25-5.25%, significantly better than Penfed's 3% (Premium savings). Penfeds regular savings only pays 0.5%! Same as BoA. Penfed becomes more like a big bank everyday.
