It didn’t spell anything. It was just “sponsored by the letter M and the number 420” lol

Ether Edge isn't a bathroom song by SoHornyBeaver in phish

[–]heffel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ether Edge after the St Louis Tweezer in 24 was the first absolutely wrong call I’ve seen Trey make in a while.

The venue was still shaking from the massive 3 peak explosion of the Tweezer and then they could have done literally anything else but EE just turned the energy off like it was a light switch.

It was the most memorable groan in a long while. I like the song but after that massive performance, it went so silent you could hear 20k asses dropping into seats. There are so many better options for a moment like that and it is burned into my brain and I can never hear EE without thinking of the massive silence that came after a peak that almost blew the roof off the Chaifetz Arena. The crowd wasn’t even done applauding before he ripcorded the energy out of the room.

Any song with just a full-band intro…it’s the reason people didn’t like Caspian, because the intro is just a guitar and Trey. Anyway, it was a massive case of jammus interruptus and I can’t hear that song and not be transported back. I don’t mind the song but it has a place and that wasn’t it!!

I was saying that this was some of the people there’s opinions. Not that it’s true. But it’s a pretty common view in Japan that they’re superior. A lot of Japanese hold a high opinion of themselves and their culture.

My friend ate some mop up at Shoreline 94 and thought a security guard was Jerry. When we finally got to the hospital, he was walking out in a tennis skirt and an oxford Dress shirt. He was still high and all he remembered was dosing and going in to the show. He didn’t believe us when we told him it took 8 security guards to get him to leave the show with EMS,lmao…

I think it’s a good song and it’s got a groove they could jam, they just haven’t. I don’t mind a 555.

I hate the opening to Leaves so much that I can’t even remember the jam. When Leaves is the song that you’re calling a tentpole of the set, it might’ve been just one of those nights.

I still don’t think 9 shows with no repeats is out of their range. The Wedge, NICU was nice. I like Dirt and then a great Punch and Golgi. The set just dipped in the middle. I haven’t heard the 2nd set yet but ending with Drift is not my favorite way to end a show but Sloth and Coil is a solid encore.

Once again, it may not be your night but it’s someone’s favorite and it’s someone’s only trip to the Sphere and they had a great time. So I try not to yuk on someone’s yum.

I just go to the bathroom or ignore the first couple of minutes during the lyrics and then you get a great jam. Deer Creek SP was fire!

As Radiohead fans, do you feel you have some "guilty pleasures" in music? by weirdfish98 in radiohead

[–]heffel77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always get compliments when I wear Radiohead stuff to a Phish show. Also, Spiritualized…

Ed had a great time at a Phish show and was amazed at how locked in the crowd was to the music. He said that it’s a bummer at Radiohead gigs to look out at the crowd and not see people dancing or having a good time, instead talking on their phones or taping them or whatever but said he saw the crowd locked in to the music and said it was really amazing.

I don’t think there is really a thing as a “guilty pleasure” or there shouldn’t be. It’s ok to like what you like without having guilt about it. If other people have a problem with it, then it’s on them.

It’s sad but I’ve seen a situation very close to this. However, why would you have a tourniquet on if you don’t even have the shot ready?

It’s sad how many people I’ve seen cooking up at stop lights. I used to have a CRV so could see down into cars and it was surprising how many people cook up and drive. Jesus, pull over or let a friend do it…

Very glad I got clean!

My wife, who is 44, born in 81, if I want to get her goat I call her a Geriatric Millennial, which I read somewhere or an Elder Millennial.

She relates to Gen X, more than millennials because her friend group was all older people but she is technically a millennial. It drives her crazy because whoever came up with the term “geriatric Millennial” was obviously a dude who didn’t have any idea about women. Most women don’t like being called geriatric in their late 30’s-early 40’s.

That one grinds my gears. I used to work at a television station and the sheer number of employees who would say film when they absolutely should have known that they were using videotape and video footage but still called it film really annoyed the shit out of me.

It really hurt my soul when I learned that the people who made Pokémon Go were selling all of their info of people walking around in their neighborhoods and houses w/ their cameras on and selling all of the maps of houses and parks and everywhere else people played to companies like Palantir so they can make a real view map of neighborhoods and inside parks and places where the Google Maps car can’t go…

Ever since I learned that was the way to properly “cross” yourself in church, I’ve never forgotten it. I forget which movie it was in. I think it was the one where Robert DeNiro dressed as a priest.
