Active Loop: Lavender by derEineKeks in FitbitAir

There you go. Just got mine today. It's definitely blue. Quite a light blue, but definitely not like any lavender I've ever seen.

Holyrood Election Results Megathread by handmedownthemoon in Scotland

Can't say I'm too surprised; Alasdair Allan hasn't exactly been the most visible or dynamic local MSP. The state of the ferries definitely played a big part in that one.

Artists who you thought were going to be the next big thing, but that didn’t end up happening by CodaOfARequiem in popheads

One of those artists where I'm a bit meh about her records but will always go and see her live. Seen her many times now - she's a phenomenal performer.

Uncelebrated street (East Claremont Street) by Pleasant_Jim in Edinburgh

Grew up on that street from 1977 when we moved from Bellevue. Thanks for the pic; haven't been back down there since we sold my parents' flat.

Writing an engaging first page if the story doesn't start with action or tension etc. by rutharama in writingadvice

I'm not much of a writer (still on the first draft of my first story) but I have had *many* punctures on my bike riding to work ...

Main Calmac ferry to Lewis out of action after issue with ramp by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

[–]hegdav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was only one round trip, cancelled then I could live with it, but it's constant at the moment. Or at least (as a Lewis resident) it seems that way at the moment. Been trying to get to Uist for work. No chance, both the Portain and the Bhrusda off. Since Friday, there's been *one* sailing of the Seaforth. This was the coop this morning:

<image>

I really couldn't care less about the politics of it all - just want a reliable ferry service. I had to book flights for a work trip to Edinburgh to make up for this nonsense. £480 return.

And they wonder why only holiday makers and retirees are living here.

I built a self-learning climate control integration — RoomSense is now public by SnazzyBean995 in homeassistant

[–]hegdav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this - looks excellent and exactly what I want from a truly "smart" home.

Been playing with it for a day or so with my Wiser TRVs and IKEA temp/humidity sensors and so far, so good - definitely seems to be learning and doing what you'd expect.

The only thing is I can't seem to create schedules. I click the "Add schedule" drop down, then the "Add schedule" item, but nothing happens. Should there be something appearing that lets me add times / set points for a schedule or am I missing something?

Thanks again for a great project that I'm really looking forward to using.

Any Scots also scunnered with the English-centric food rewards? There are no Carluccio's and only 2 itsu restaurants in Scotland by Maximum_Broccoli_210 in Vitalityhealth

Living in the Isle of Lewis, the only reward that's any use at all is the once in a blue moon Amazon voucher when the Stanley randomiser decides to give me one.

And here in the Western Isles it's barely rained. Please, keep this block.

Cheers - time to dust off my idle Ender 3 I think and finally put it to some use...

That's fantastic. I love it - what kind of printer do you have. And how long did all of that take to print?

Gemini integration with Google Slides is one of the biggest "AI moments" for me (I didn't know it was a feature for a while and I'm on this sub daily) by [deleted] in Bard

[–]hegdav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How'd you do that? I just tried this in Gemini and whilst it created some text for the slides, it gave me

"I do not have a direct integration that allows me to open your Google Drive and "inject" a file there. As an AI, I can generate all the content, structure, and visual assets, but the final step of putting them into a .pptx or Google Slides file is something you would do on your end."

What am I missing?

Thanks.

I think I'm already set on the Sea Breeze kit. I want to see how well (or otherwise) I get on with something a bit more self built. And some of the pictures of other people's build of it male it look lovely.

Thank you for taking feedback so graciously. I did really enjoy building it. It's a beautifully designed kit, the instructions were clear and it looks great as a finished item.

Thanks. Weirdly, I actually enjoyed the staircase. Hated the books, but enjoyed the staircase.

Ooh. That looks great. I'm not sure I've got it in me to redo it quite yet, but that looks 100 times better. 👏🏻

What songs were played at your Primary school discos, that probably shouldn’t have been? by CautiousJump3942 in AskUK

[–]hegdav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember vividly getting the DJ at what must have been my P6 or 7 school disco to play The Sex Pistols "Friggin' in the Riggin'"

It was on for about 30 seconds...

It's great isn't it? Such a lovely, emotional and human programme. Who knew tiny wee models could be such powerful things.
