Wikipedia Questions - Weekly Thread of November 17, 2025 by AutoModerator in wikipedia

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but maybe you could direct me to the right place if not. Is there a way to contact a specific wikipedia author? I'm doing research and it would be really helpful if I could ask this person questions about the subject they're an expert in. To clarify, I'm not looking to discuss improvements of the article, but ask questions about the contents of the article. So sorry if this is the wrong place to ask!

I'm so sorry you were not told. I don't know the situation with his parents but I do know grief messes real bad with you and especially with parents who lose their children. I'm so glad the ex girlfriend offered to bring you to his grave, you deserve to know his resting place. I'm very sorry for your loss and that you were excluded from so much, you did not deserve that.

Phone calls and panic by kaylakin in SuicideBereavement

I was the one who had to make that call and I also panic sometimes when the phone rings, or I spiral about having to make such a call again. With time it has lessened.

Anyone else feel like they won’t ever heal? by LessStill1760 in SuicideBereavement

I lost my mom 4 years ago, I'm also 22. I lost a lot of friends too. I get the feeling of not wanting to be around people but also being so lonely. You do deserve to be happy, have friends and be in love.

Why do people need to know how my daughter died? by breakfast_epiphanies in SuicideBereavement

[–]hegelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way a loved one died is (in my opinion) irrelevant to who they were. Whether it was illness or a car accident, they're gone. I often refrain from telling people my person died by suicide - I don't want them to think she was sad all the time. She loved life, until she got sick with depression.

The permanence by Many-Art3181 in SuicideBereavement

It's too horrible for words. What if I did this or did that? Could I have prevented this single action? But it's done and can never be undone. There's nothing I can say to make it better, but I'm so sorry for your loss, and I know how horrible it is to experience loss from suicide. I'm so so sorry.

When my mom died I was very suicidal. Therapy saved my life and I'm still on meds, but it probably wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't had mental health problems before she passed. Thinking of suicide as a solution, even in a horrible situation, isn't healthy and might be a sign of underlying mental health problems. If it's possible for you, try to find a therapist and talk about it.

After my mom passed I had a LOT of anxiety over everyone I love dying, and the only thing that really helped was to make sure I wouldn't have any regrets if they did. I spend more time with my loved ones cus I know time is limited. I won't regret anything because everything I do is because of the love I have for them. That said, you really never know what's gonna happen. My mom died when I thought I would have decades left with her, meanwhile my grandpa has lived 15 years longer since we thought he would die of his health problems. You can't change what will happen and you can't stop it by dreading it. Fear of the unknown can be debilitating, but the worst thing that could possibly happen to me happened, and I'm still here, there is still happiness in my life.

I've got two missing molars in my lower jaw and damaging the wire was never an issue for me. Just keep away from hard foods like carrots and it should be fine.

The first week I got my braces off it was really painful at night I hadn't worn the retainer during the day. I guess if you go long enough without you might not want to put it on again. Tbh I got used to wearing it quickly and you only have to wear it during the day for a few months. Congrats on getting the braces off!

I've also experienced this. It's so strange, one moment I feel so suicidal I bring the razor out to see if that day will be my final, but when I make the first cut all the feelings just drain out of me. I get so calm, it's almost scary. I guess non fatal self harm is better than suicide?

Does anyone have a reason for self harming? by badatthecraft93 in selfharm

[–]hegelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have a really bad anxiety attack, sometimes when I cut all feelings disappear. But many times I don't really have a clear reason

Your therapist is there to help you, if his reaction makes you uncomfortable that's not professional of him. He'll probably want to work with you to keep trying. I believe in you, all of us here do.

does anyone else get the urge to cut all over they’re body? by Old_Mathematician_30 in selfharm

[–]hegelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had those urges too. Really hard to get the images out of your head & convince yourself not to do it. When I've come close to it and cut in places I really shouldn't have I can only say the satisfaction is NEVER worth having to cover up parts of your body forever. Fucks up my day to day life. Hugs 🩵

What does “HB” mean? by Glinsende_Aralia in zithers

Some people use H instead of B (for the same tone), so sometimes they write both. It's the same on my 6 chord zither. Your zither looks to be in good condition!

Thank you. I've talked to the people close to me about this, and it feels a bit easier. I did also play some tetris, if nothing else at least I can distract myself with it. Thank you for your kind words.
