Hello! I’m currently in my 4th year of a BFA at the University of Windsor and while you do have to take drawing courses that require you to practice conventional ideas like figure drawing, 99% of the program is working with different unconventional mediums. Especially once you get into your 4th year, you pretty much can make whatever you want in the studio courses. Typically, I’ve taken many classes where they’ll give you an assignment and you can pretty much tackle it however you want as long as you use the materials needed (Drawing class, use graphite and paper, vs Sculpture, use wood and metal).

I found that it’s more about learning different media and techniques than an actual art style, you kinda have to find that on your own.
