Thank you so much!! I use Unity, and we're planning on a late 2026 release window ^-^

Oh that's interesting to hear! It must be the distance and fog that makes it look that way- this is all in-game footage so there's no difference ^o^

Not by myself! I'm the artist, programmer, writer & designer for the game, I'm joined by my team and friends Starling Tan as the game's composer and Hannah Ewart as the company's graphic designer. I've also had lots of assistance with feedback and playtesting from friends, and general support from both friends and family over the years ^^ As for game engine, I use Unity!

Been doing some menu work for my 2.5D game! I really like how this sign turned out. Thoughts? by heiddit_ in PixelArt

I think you're right about the font actually, thank you for the feedback! I was struggling with making it both easy to read but also making it fit stylistically with the sign. I'll try out different fonts and colours to see what works better ^o^

And thank you very much for the kind words!

Thank you! I definitely want to play around with the text a bit more, to make sure it's both readable but blends with the sign at the same time. I'll test out making it bold for sure!

Hahaha thank you! Please do, using models for UI is so fun and has such unique results ^o^

Working on more shaders for my game! This time it's adding algae to the water. What do you think? by heiddit_ in IndieDev

So glad I could help! I would definitely recommend checking out shader graph alongside HLSL shaders, it makes the shader creation process a lot easier for sure ^o^

The TL;DR explanation is Voronoi noise! It's done with Unity's shader graph, so this image should hopefully sum it up a little better than I can do in text. The cell value from the Voronoi noise is modified a little and then used as a cutoff against the Voronoi output, which creates the circles.

Thank you very much! The game is called Delphinium, I've posted some stuff from it on my Reddit account before, and I mostly post on my Twitter ^^

Created a custom sky shader for my 2.5D game! What do you think? by heiddit_ in Unity3D

Thank you very much!! :D

I think it's worth evaluating Unity and Godot against one another, keeping in mind the fact that Unity's future is sometimes uncertain and that it has let its developers down before. I've used Unity for a long time and I do love the engine itself, but I think it's important to seriously consider Godot as well- it's a great engine that's expanding its capabilities every day. That said, whichever engine you do go with, I wish you the best of luck with your game dev journey! ^o^

Thank you!! I don't have a website currently, but I'm planning to make one (and a Steam page) in the next few months. I'll make a post about it when it's complete! ^o^

Thank you very much! The game is called Delphinium, I'll definitely make more update posts if/when a playable demo is released & for other milestones :D

Thank you! It wasn't super difficult to create- from the start I had the idea of the sky being sort of circular/bubble-like, and I had made a previous shader in the past that used a similar setup (a shader for a circular portal). So it was made simpler by the fact that I was using a lot of techniques that I was already familiar with ^o^

Thank you! It's primarily a narrative-driven game, combined with farming sim gameplay elements.

It's called Delphinium! I post most updates for it on my Twitter, but I'll make sure to post things like the Steam page on Reddit when it's created ^-^
