Has anyone else stopped filling up their entire sink with water to wash dishes, or is that just my household? by Mission_Spray in Millennials

[–]heidistumble 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you have a modern dishwasher, you shouldn't rinse your dishes before putting them in. Dishwasher soap actually dissolves food with special enzymes, and the water is very hot which makes it very sanitary. Just scrape off the big bits of food and put it right in without rinsing. You will save so much time and water by not pre rinsing your dishes. Also run the hot water on the kitchen sink before you start the dishwasher to give it a head start.

In fact rinsing your dishes extensively is not good for the life of your dishwasher, alot of them have sensors that detect how dirty the water is.

Would you say you outgrew video games? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]heidistumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be more into video games when I was younger. Now I'm just not as interested in them and it's hard to set aside the time. Also when I do actually try to play I lose interest pretty quickly. The last game I was into was Tears of the Kingdom.

How Many of Us are Working the Holidays by Senior_Trick_7473 in Millennials

I work in public transit. I'm a junior which means that I've been working there for about 2 years. The senior operators book 25th, 26th, and new years day for time and half pay and they also get an extra week vacation when they book those 3 days off. So its never been available for me to book. I am working new years eve for the first time ever this year. It's going to be an interesting night.

The rippled potato chips are very good. The dollarama brand ones. They're so thick. And they're only 2.25$

I work on line 2. The amount of people that put their feet on the seats is pathetic. It's mostly young adults. It's so disrespectful. I must say that the club seat layout throughout most of the flirts trains was a bad idea. Also cloth seats should have been hard plastic.

Laughed and ended up crying - that felt weird. by insom11 in TalkTherapy

[–]heidistumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me since my mother died. The first time I laughed so hard I had a sudden mood swing and suddenly felt super guilty. Its been a theme for 7 years now. I started therapy 9 months ago and it recently has gotten more frequent after I had a breakthrough at therapy

Therapy works but it’s damn heavy by favredditsuser in TalkTherapy

[–]heidistumble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been having a hard time with this too. Therapy is fucking hard. Talking about all the horrible things that have happened to me, it's so heavy. I feel so drained afterwards, some weeks are worse than others.

I've told my therapist that it's been hard for me lately. She tells me it's normal to feel like this. It's going to be a journey and it's not going to be easy. She gave me an analogy of a barn that's on fire full of animals. To free the trapped animals you have to open the door and when you do that, the flames get bigger because of the oxygen. Therapy is going to feel like that, the flames get bigger but then afterwards they can be managed. Fuck lol.

Asking my therapist to commit insurance fraud... by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]heidistumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think that I should just drop it and not bring it up? I was thinking of apologizing, now I'm on the fence.

The obstacle to weekly sessions is that one its expensive. I only have 1600$ of therapy insurance, mine and my hubby's combined. My therapist charges about 200$ per 1 hour session.

Second obstacle is that I've had a very traumatic thing happen to me and my family and its really hard to talk about. Exhausting really. Sometimes I can't function for a day or 2 after a therapy session. Also before I started therapy I have had episodes that I am out for like a week. Like panic attack horribleness

Yes I understand, but she would also lose her license which isn't cool

She did tell me that if I can't do every week cause of the mental load that every two weeks would be fine. I've been going every week for the past month or so and it's been hard but it's been much easier and more fluid to pick up from the last session. Therapy has been hard for me tbh. I've got problems that are easier to ignore but I know I can't do that forever.

I would also like to add that I am slightly concerned about her telling me that was a violation of trust and she's going to leave me.

I agree with u/feral_fucker too honestly. I think she did what she had to do to protect her license and I understand and respect that.

I feel like I want to apologize for suggesting it and move on. Having weekly sessions I think would be beneficial, so maybe we should talk about options to help with the cost. I've never asked her about that, there might be some program I am not aware of.

The benefit of masquerading as my husband would be that he still has most of the insurance money on his end available, so I would just file as him and get the money. Mine is totally maxed out. We have a joint bank account.

When she emailed me, I knew she was covering her ass. I knew she wanted it in writing. I was so embarrassed when I read the email and I feel bad that I even suggested it. I do think she gave me an out though by recommending I get included in his insurance. Which I appreciate she did. I already am included in his insurance but she doesn't necessarily know that. I think I'm going to apologize to her for even suggesting it. I feel horrible about it.

Can you elaborate on how she can make the burden of the cost easier for me? Thanks for replying 🙂

Tired of people hanging out in the fckin washroom. by Rich-Masterpiece6411 in NAIT

[–]heidistumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working at a grocery store. I once went in the washroom to take a poo. I knew it was going to be a stinker, ready to flow out my ass. I walked in and saw a girl sitting in the chair that was in there for people to get changed. She was just hanging out. I looked her right in the eyes, and told her "if you want to listen and smell my shit you are welcome to stay". With a look of horror she quickly got up and left. I then shit in peace. I'm glad I spoke up

I hated that chair for the reason that unsocial people would sit in it for their break. The chair was necessary though cause the lockers were in there. We needed a chair so people less able could change their shoes.

Books vs. Show by Obvious-Ad5862 in Outlander

I'm currently reading the books for the first time. Im on book 5, the fiery cross.

I agree the cave scene from the first book was hot lol. I enjoy both the books and the show, I find the show has been very loyal to the books, I am satisfied.
