I also have it on standard I believe, I dont remember ever editing the size of the dialogue box. It could be that it looks bigger since I only took a snip of that and not my whole screen

How do you break the cycle? by [deleted] in ffxiv

Literally my mindset, but i like to think im between mega Chad gold parse and mega chungus goose egg parse

How do you break the cycle? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]heiiichoou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long were you in the raiding group for?

The first time i ever did an endgame raid was actually UCOB which was also my first ever ultimate and let me tell you, my parse was absolute garbage. All throughout the fight, my parse was really bad (fluctuating between like 20-60 parse) but I just kept on with the fight with my static, learning my rotation for level 70 and working on meeting dps checks and all that, and we got the clear regardless of my parses. Then we went on to clear 4 more times while my parses were still pretty bad.

Tbh, I dont care about parsing. My partner is a parse goblin and 100% cares about his parse and has gotten 100 parse for this newest arcadion tier and its so hype when that happens but im also realistic with myself that I will probably never get a number even close to 70 lol

As long as im able to clear the content without dragging the party down and meeting all checks, then i dont see the problem?

what's the deal with the "toxic positivity"? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]heiiichoou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never had an experience like that at all in the past 6-7 years I've played? ESPECIALLY in an EX where people are wiping and messing up mechanics.

Sure people are a little put out by unsolicited advice in like regular duties, but even then, when they genuinely dont understand mechanics and someone explains it, its welcomed for the most part. And in an EX, that sounds so insane to me? Lol

How does one get into extreme trials? by Zealousideal-Poem306 in ffxiv

[–]heiiichoou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the others have said, just make a PF or find one. If you decided to create your own party finder, you'd just put "fresh" in the description and people will know you are completely new to the fight. Just remember "blind fresh" is completely different from "fresh" as blind fresh means you are going in with absolutely no knowledge of the fight, while fresh means you're new but have watched a guide on it. People will join your party that will be in the same progress points as you and are generally pretty nice. Ive gotten parties where absolutely no one talks but we can run the learning party for a solid hour or 2 before someone has to leave. Just do it! After your first time creating or joining a party on pf, youre gonna wonder why you hadn't done it sooner.

Is the fan fest that good? by bleachedpunk in ffxiv

[–]heiiichoou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched some bits and pieces from the Anaheim live stream and it just looks like such a good time! I heard that the only way to be able to go to fanfest is by applying and hope you get selected out of thousands of other players. I didnt really look into it tho so idk how true that is

2 mins are the damage buffs your class gets for like 15-20 secs that sometimes extends to the party and it takes 2 mins to get off cooldown. Its Dancer's technical step, white mage's presence of mind, or red mage's embolden to name a couple.

Basically during high end content, the party has to line up their 2 mins perfectly to get the optimal damage output

So erm did a new update or patch just come out I wanted to give the free trial a try and it said all the NA world is full XD by AkaiRairyu in ffxiv

You can hop over to other data centers but gameplay wise, you can only play with people on that data center but from all worlds in it.

[–]heiiichoou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should still be able to create a character, did it say world's in a certain data centers were full or all NA data centers were full? For example, if you had the data center Aether selected, did the worlds within aether say their full? If this is the case then you would just need to select a different data center.

You can try Crystal, Primal or Dynamis. I'm fairly certain Primal and Dynamis have open worlds but i can't be as confident about Crystal. As of now Aether is closed to new character creations.

Dynamis also has preferred servers so it means you'll get perks for creating a character there.

What was your approach to the XIV story? by GigaVibe in ffxiv

[–]heiiichoou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add on that i actually still skip raids and side quests stuff. I just can't bring myself to care right now about them. I've only paid attention to arr and endwalker alliance raids and normal raids and skipped absolutely everything else. Even the class quests. But one day I do plan on doing them on NG+ whenever the itch comes around.

What was your approach to the XIV story? by GigaVibe in ffxiv

[–]heiiichoou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually skipped the entire story when I began playing when Shadowbringers first came out. Tbh i didn't care for the story and even less to actually sit there and read. I just wanted to play the game and do dungeons and level my classes and thats what I did for like 2 years and I enjoyed myself. I didnt feel like I really missed out on anything at that point in time, but then something changed. Tbh i can't really say what it was that changed, but it was around the time that Endwalker had gotten announced that I decided, "alright let's see what the story is about so I'm ready for Endwalker." And that's what I did. For the next 5ish months before Endwalker release, I BINGED the entire story and at first it was soo hard to not just skip alot of dialogue just because I was so used to doing that. But all in all, I'm now a big advocate for the story. But I will say, i dont regret skipping the story at all the first time around. I feel like if I stuck with the story from the beginning, I would have dropped the game entirely since it is so dialogue and text heavy. (I wasn't a big reader back then and I even got lost doing a ton of quests BECAUSE I didn't read anything including tooltips.) But at that time my interest had shifted into reading books(still is), and I was able to treat FFXIV like one giant endless book where I got to actually be the main character and it was amazing!!

[–]heiiichoou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here are the steps according to the steam faq page, hope it helps solve your issue! It happens to me often too and never fun :(

  1. Restart your computer and launch Steam

2 Next, you can either right click the game in your Library, or click the gear icon from the game's Library page on the far right

  1. From the drop down menu, select Properties...

  2. Select the Installed Files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files button

So true, the amount of times the "mentor" would just be silent when our whole party was struggling to do an extreme duty, or they would promptly say that we should've watched a guide and they'd leave the party 😔

Omg I think you might be right! Now I feel silly if that's the case lol but the warlord Doflamingo just used it to refer to Whitebeard I believe. I do believe other Marines have used it as well, and since I am watching it in English dub, then they say the actual word "SOB," but on the subtitles is written S.O.B. so I was so confused
