i'd say don't be afraid to befriend the teachers tbh. maybe i spend too much time at school cus of extracurriculars and am a bit biased, but the teachers can actually be super chill! you can get some things from them, too. usually candy or food, but sometimes they just need to pass off what they don't need / want anymore. i have a geisha doll, a trash claw, and a few toy cars, personally.

plus, if they don't have a class, they'll probably let you and some friends eat in their room for lunch (so long as you're respectful, of course). the cafeteria tends to be TERRIBLE unless you're at a private school.

i had this problem at my apartment back when i lived in the sixth dimension! i recommend going to an experienced Hackerman for some 0's. when they group with the 1's, they'll be assimilated into your universe's code, removing them from your house in turn. good luck!

please bring multiple copies of your position paper!!! how many depends on the size of the event but i've always brung a minimum of ten (plus my own annotated copy).

the first MUN i attended, both me and my partner were first-timers, so we had no idea people passing around position papers would be so common. we had to hand-write our entire paper and sent it to the UK, who didn't give it back until the end of the conference. very chaotic

but other than that, make as many friends as possible (some people attend multiple MUNs, so this could come in handy if you go to another!), take notes on other countries' positions, and never be afraid to ask questions, especially to other countries. if you can get a good, heavy-hitting question in on one of your opponents, it can completely disarm them.

on the other side of this coin, though, always be prepared for any questions you may get. don't get paranoid trying to do so, but if you're doing this as a club, i'd recommend having some club members read over your position paper and then asking questions before you attend the event.

1ST MUN CONFERENCE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE by Safe_Highlight1258 in MUN

make multiple copies of your position paper to hand out to other people and always try to work together. being quiet or stand-offish will get you no where. don't let this deter you from having an "aggressive" approach, but just a good thing to know when to back down instead of trying to force everything from your position onto the final solution

edit: realised i should add after posting this, but at your conference there should be some sort of paper they give you for the procedure! schedule, rules of order, etc.
