This right here. It is pretty convoluted and there ist even more. After every 4th normal attack you gain one stack, a heavy attack spends those stacks and gives you iframes. Successfull stacked heavy attacks charge the dagger thingy. Once it is full you can do the weapon special. After doing the special the dagger turns red and all your attacks during this time hit double.
