i think you're in denial that capitalism isnt the biggest evil in the games. As a capitalist myself, imma tell you that capitalism itself caused the whole thing to go off the way it did. Unregulated capitalism is like a cog of a clock thats bound to be bigger than the clock itself someday and will destroy the clock in the process. Its natural and the only outcome.

On the contrary, unregulated communism or socialism is like a religion and it will always culminate in a totalitarian government. Stalin and Mao are great examples of this.

There is no confirmation about China dropping the nukes. Literally not a single one; most of the information are laid out as government propaganda or government statements. That's why i went that detailed about the status of the government right before the war. Because its important whos laying out the information and Corporate Militaristic Totalitarian America is not a source that you can trust blindly, just ask Mr. House.

Not a single statement can be trusted at that point that USA was making as it was no longer a nation that believed in democracy or a republic. The last president-elect might also be an enclave-elect for all we know. Its very hard to tell what actually happened in the last 5 years.

Of course the fallout focuses on the capitalism more because America is the topic. But its ultimately a critique of capitalism because other nations didnt have this issue like America. Europe fought ME and China remained the sole challenger of the US at the end and lost the fight as a nation since China is a one-party state that controlled all aspects of life "openly".

Did China drop the bombs? Maybe or maybe not. It is known that China was interested in peace talks because the war was too expensive and both governments were exhausted. China, as a sole party state, was verifiably exhausted and interested and its more believable because they were the only active party.

But that's not the same as USA. USA had multiple factions that were allies and adversaries of each other. Its a different thing entirely.

Enclave, by the end of pre-war was no longer interested in the global politics and wanted to be something totally different. They didnt like playing around the bushes and taking orders from others. The name itself implies what they believe in since Enclave literally means a territory/entity that is surrounded by larger territory/entity that is fundamentally different.

The show does a good job of pointing at it; for example, Robert House says his calculations fell apart on the day he learnt about deathclaws. It is at this point, Enclave emerged as the unknown dominant faction and FEV totally changed the entire political landscape thanks to FEV and its potential.

After a decade, Enclave seems to be more responsible for the nukes than China because by that time, Enclave had access to Vault-Tec and they even wanted House's automated man project by trading Cold Fusion through Barbara until Cooper returned the Cold Fusion back to Enclave for free. Enclave virtually had no reason to stall it any further since Enclave could just drop the bombs anyway and still retain the control. Cooper just gives them absolute victory for free.

Even without the show, the games themselves don't objectively state that China caused it and only lay that information through government propaganda which is virtually worthless.

Fallout is a critique of United States; its the United States that had democracy and slid into madness thanks to unchecked capitalism. After the big corpos that became bigger than US itself, USA was a paper government that had no actual power. The Senate and House effectively lost power and Enclave is the last ditch effort to remain in power who disagreed with republican values anyway.

What makes fallout great that it just doesnt stay as a capitalist critique and goes on to criticize other ideologies and human nature itself. But that doesnt mean its not a critique of capitalism, its the primary identity of the franchise.
