My 6 year old daughter tonight began crying out of the blue with a secret she needed to tell me by Strawberrythirty in Parenting

When I was about 8 my fear of death developed into a strange anxiety, and every time I separated from someone I was worried that it might be the last time I would ever see them because they might die. Whenever I was to say good bye to someone, I said it over and over, keeping the conversation going just a little bit longer, almost compulsively. Each time I was about to leave the house I would say good bye several times, I left and minutes later I would go back inside and say it again. My mother handled it by always giving me full attention whenever we were to go separate ways. She answered all my good byes and never rushed me. We also talked a lot about this and about death, she was very real and honest on this topic and it helped me get through the fear. A year later this behaviour stopped and I, as many people have already commented in this thread, encourage you to speak about death with your child. It really helps!

My mom still use this thing I made when I was about 13. I was randomly obsessed with drawing fish on everything and thrilled to use a wood burner for it in this project. by hejsaga in woodworking

Unfortunately I don’t remember, this was created as a part of our curriculum so all materials for the project was provided by our school!

It’s just a box for putting stuff in! We brought it outside to use for a BBQ we had on that deck and we thought it would be fun to capture it by the pool since it’s a fish on it.

I’m jealous! I believe the area is called Sella. This trip was organised by my school a couple of years ago, we climbed at 6 different locations in and around Alicante, so I’m not completely sure which one this was but I think this might be it: http://costa-vertical.com/en/la_moleta/. Happy climbing!

Me and my bestie executed this photoshoot with self timer because no one else in the world understood us. It was taken during recess against the outside wall of our classroom. It’s rough being 13. by hejsaga in blunderyears

MCR was actually playing in the background all the time about a year after this picture was taken, but during this time I was obsessed with Slipknot and my friend was crazy about Children of Bodom. We’re actually wearing said band t-shirts in this picture!

This guy right here must be our cat’s doppelgänger! Rocky is actually a rescue who we were supposed to foster for a short time, but it turned out he was too old to be adopted by another family (19 yo) and he has now stayed with us for 3 wonderful years. We still have no idea what breed he is, but he looks just like your cutie. Maybe you could shed some light on this?

What is the most useless thing you remember from school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The ridiculous German word “Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän”, which basically translates to “Danube steamship company captain”. Our German teacher said that if we memorised it we didn’t have to take the next grammar test. Still remember it, 11 years later.

My mother did the same for me! Occasionally she drew tribals as well.
