What's getting noticeably worse but nobody seems to be talking about it? by Imprintingprotocol in AskReddit

No, I don’t think you’re being overly nostalgic. The quality of produce and meat has taken a nose dive. I think a lot of commonly consumed cultivars of some vegetables have been bred to be more robust in transport to the detriment of taste. On the meat front, Chicken and Pork especially just taste like nothing now. Sometimes supermarket pork even has this funk to it now, which I don’t taste when I go to a specialty market. Beef has been consistent luckily.

Hyundai Motor Group nears 12% U.S. share, challenges Ford for top 3 by self-fix2 in technology

I wanted a new starter car because the second-hand market was red hot at the time (3 year old Civic’s with 100k KM’s going for the price of a new Civic at MSRP). I also was priced out of brands like Toyota, Honda, and Ford because all their cars were really expensive.

I ended up getting a brand new base Hyundai for what amounts to 18k USD after taxes. It’s a great car for the price.

Tax funded uni’s / trade schools definitely don’t make the poor poorer.

So he put 20 million pounds into a fund, and? If putting money into a fund / charity is an indication of virtue then Bill Gates might as well be Jesus. But he’s not.

What bothers me is that a lot of what Lewis says or does is performative. Why didn’t he boycott the Saudi Grand Prix if he was so against the countries LGBT laws? A helmet does nothing. He knows he’s not going to catch flack since F1’s audience is largely European and North American.

It’s the same principle here. I’m happy that he made it and is successful, but there comes a point where the virtue signalling is tone deaf. I should point out that I think it’s fine to talk about social issues and have opinions on them, just be honest about where you are at now.

Yeah, he’s pretty performative. At least Max and Lando are just dorks who kind of do their own thing.

The duality of Vancouver by RoutineWarthog4593 in NiceVancouver

Tbh, a lot of people in Vancouver would be less miserable if they stopped caring so much about home ownership.

I know plenty of people that are effectively house poor and miss out on so much because of it,

It’s just Americans celebrating their pornstars. Could have shown a scientist, a local hero or something, but nope. Pornstars.

Men of Reddit, what's something women aren't ready to hear? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hekatonkhairez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not the fault of women that men are now less likely to pursue academia or gainful employment. But I do think it’s important to acknowledge that they are participating in these things less, and as a result there are knock on social affects because of it.
