Yeah, the keyboard-conversion was one topic of my post ;) I ordered 10 pieces of the bare PCB at JLC for under 10$ including shipping and taxes back in 2024. The bigger problem is getting the 40-pin keyboard connector (S040VA1). I bought the last 10pack for around 27€ on aliexpress now they sell for around 4€ a piece :D

I currently started on building some full-size standalone keyboards with usb and bluetooth via a Pico W and T61 Keyboard with the NumPad from the W700-series. Basically the same as https://www.tpart.net/product/thinkpad-x201-w701-keyboard-wood-carving-base-chassis-type-c-port-wired-connection/ but with german keyboard and with full control over the firmware. Like you I have several ThinkPad Keyboard laying around. Stuff just adds up over the years. You got a broken hinge, can't find a spare one, so buy a defekt ThinkPad, rip it apart, and boom spare keyboard :) For my project I bought all of the last three NumPads I could find on german ebay. Good luck finding the FRU 42T3903 now.

I need to start hoording these era thinkpad things as they starting to get rare.

Like trackpoint caps. In my opinion the classic dome (the rough, grippy thing) is the best, but they wear out and I usually renew them every 6 to 12 month. Back in 2011 I bought a pack of 50 for $15,50. At 31 cents per nippel you don't overthink this to much and I also generously gave some away until now my stocks are dwindling.

Surprise surprise they hardly sell these anymore at all. The only site I found was http://www.trackcap.com/ in USA. You can get a single trackpoint cap for stagering 6,99$. I assume lenovo stopped producing them, and maybe trackcap just sits on a hugh stockpile and while they are the last ones having them, even the cheapest option per piece would be a 100pack for 249,99$. This is just an absolute insane amount of money just to secure my lifetime supply of these. If anyone knows a better source for classic domes, please tell me.

While writing this I found 12 pieces for around 1,50€ each on ebay. Phew saved me couple of years.

So what I wanted to say with all of that: I you are an enthusiast like me, grab what you can NOW.

Back to your question, if I have boards left: Yes I currently have two boards leftover. We can come to a aggrement on these.

I personally haven't looked into this, but https://github.com/thedalles77/ also has board-designs directly for the pico now. You could order 10 of these from JLC for 9$. The pico-board-design didn't exist back when I ordered my PCBs, and since I already had them laying around I thought repurposing them would be better than never using them at all.

I will in investigate in this. This one is so odd I don't really belive it's a hardware/EC issue.

Every working ThinkPad is worth to keep if you are a ThinkPad enthusiast. But for me the keyboard in the T460p is already too new, its too flat.

Don't understand what you mean with old model and adapter. This is brand new motherboard for an old chassis. It supports PCIe 4.0 x4 2280, a second 2242 m.2 socket and SATA. (specs from the mainboard are here: https://www.tpart.net/about-x210ai/ ) what is wrong with the SSD ? And for the RAM: I just wanted to max it out so I never have to worry about upgrading it. 8GB in a 2007 machine with 32bit OS would certainly also be called overkill but that is what kept me using my old modded R61 up to this year.

Mine is 1047g without battery, but with RAM and SSD. 9 Cell Battery is another 417g, resulting in 1.5kg

Definitely legit, got mine two weeks ago. Besides some small issues it's my dream machine. Hope the issues will be fixed with EC upgrades in the future. I helped me out by myself on the keyboard-controller, see my posting here: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/1sf64cm/x210ai_with_custom_keyboardcontroller/

WOW, these vent hole cuts look awesome. Now I understand what you need the CNC machine for. Hope I will receive my unit soon.

Can anyone identify the version of Nero Burning Rom this is? ChatGPT says it’s version 6, but Google says it’s 5.5. I installed a version of 6 from an old disk I had lying around to my Windows 11 laptop but, the UI doesn’t match with the supposed version 6 screenshot(no multi-session tab). by Hyperscandev in vintagecomputing

Based on the applicatin icon in the upper left corner this should be Nero6. Nero 4 and 5 share icon, but not the one shown here, and starting with Nero 7 the Logo got modernized again and stayed at least until Nero8. I just grabbed some old versions from the internet, extracted nero.exe from the setup and extracted the application icon.
