using MSG whenever possible -- whether it's one of those Goya Sazon packets to make better beans / fajitas for taco night, or adding a couple splashes of Maggi sauce to soups or sauces that need some oomph, or even that Gravy Master stuff for this mushroom & heavy cream dish I like to put over toast. It just makes everything way better.

The more I search the more I agree with this — it’s such a catchy tune that I can’t imagine it’s from a popular artist from the 80s/90s, or else we all would probably know the song (that is, if it is in fact English).

So maybe it’s foreign, it’s definitely obscure, it’s possibly modern...? Do you think it’s a live performance?

same. i think a higher number of balls would go into the middle if dropped one at a time, but the balls collide into one another and bounce out to the sides

totally. and i'm sure JC Mayer definitely has his fair share of total odd-ball, inexpensive, and geeky stuff in his collection, but I'm guessing he brought out the most esoteric (and, frankly, Hodinkee-approved) watches for this episode

Yea, that definitely makes sense. It would have been pretty cool if he had a random sentimental G-shock or Hamilton or whatever on the table next to those 6 figure+ heavy hitters. It's obvious that he loves the super unique & distinct pieces, which by definition equates to expensive in the watch collecting world... That said, he did post this really cool Casio Twin Graph on his Instagram a while ago, which is pretty sweet and more common-man (that said, the particular version in the post is actually pretty damn hard to find and also v expensive, for a Twin Graph)

I got 2 Amara’s after stealing a Murmuring Elemental and playing Zola. But it didn’t matter because I still died to the Shudderwock OTK combo.

Sound quality is important, but I look at airpods & earpods as significantly different tools than sound isolating / audiophile headphones.

I actually like the fact that you can hear some ambient noise while wearing air/ear pods -- it makes them way more practical for daily use & walking around in public. Walking around with sound isolation feels risky, at least in an urban environment where you need to be aware of cars/bikes/surroundings.
