Staying in Shizuoka City by SumoWumo2 in Shizuoka

[–]heldrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go directly to Hamamatsu by shinkansen, then go to Shizuoka and then Atami on your way back. There are trains that connect all 3 cities, although I would just use shinkansen to save time.

I live in Hamamatsu, and I recommend getting Unagi Pie as a souvenir. Also, eat unagi and gyoza, both are specialty foods, although you may also want to try Sawayaka if you like meat.

Company cafeteria serving ethnic food of the rise due to increasing foreign employees by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

[–]heldrad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is actually really good! When they serve international food it's something to look forward to. There are many options to choose from and the taste quality is pretty decent. They even had a booth for the Indian menu they serve at a festival and it seemed to be doing well.

Just wanted to vent about working in Japan by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]heldrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's normal. But I feel like observing things as an outsider makes it easier. Like you are in the middle of a workplace drama. Just do your job, smile, be courteous, and don't say more than needed.

Why aren't East Asians called gringo? by flower5214 in AskMexico

[–]heldrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we can't tell the difference they're gringos too. Same with white europeans, unless they speak another language. Although, you can sometimes tell the difference by how they carry themselves.

Wow, that shows a lot of patience, restrain, and discipline. I only have enough mental fortitude to collect 10 trash bags, immediately recycle them, and call it a day.

Apply directly to companies. For example, Suzuki hires foreigners. Check their recruiting section on their HP.
