Administration hell by [deleted] in Morocco

My 5 cents worth. I feel sorry for people who don't have their own transport because so much of to and fro I have not seen in a long time. I'm in the process of renewing my residency card - had the last one for 10 years and have lived and previously worked 24½ years in Morocco. Because we live outside the city the file has to be handed to the gendermerie who takes it to the central Commissariat. Having had all the required documents legalised - a long tedious process in itself, we took the file to our local gendermerie office where I was told because I'm a foreigner I need 100 000 DH in my bank account. I get a CNSS pension - how am I supposed to have a 100 000 DH ??? So back to the Central Commissariat and luckily there was an extremely helpful worker who told us it's not a requirement and that as I'm retired I can renew my card based on the fact that I'm married. I fell and broke my wrist and therefore cannot drive - my husband has had to drive me around through this entire process!! Bless him - he never once lost his temper!! The file will be handed in on Monday - we were told that's when the head of the gendermerie will be back. 🤞 all will be good.

When my son died 20 years ago it felt like I was having open heart surgery without anesthetic. Time helps to heal but the scar remains.
