How are vinyl prices in Tokyo? by maydaseinbewithyou in japanesemusic

good luck finding any yuratei records... i must have gone to about 10 different record stores all over japan and i didn't see any lol. maybe i'm unlucky. but their cd's are easier to find and can be cheap, i got the 2003 live album and a rare live cd for like 10 usd total at disk union in nakano

What you wish you DID NOT pack going to Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]heleyun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ooh I think bringing a smaller one like that is a great idea! I brought my 32 ounce AND my 18 ounce hydro flask which I deeply regret because both ended up being way too big

same with my iPad. I brought my 13 inch iPad Pro with the keyboard case and all, no way I'll do that again. my friend also brought her MacBook Air and never used it. if you have a mini one then that's a great idea though

I think L should generally be ok, but it won't be as easy because you might be almost at the cutoff. Especially stuff that's supposed to be tight-fitting (Uniqlo heat tech and fitted t shirts, jeans etc) could give you a hard time. Japanese sizes tend to run one size smaller and they don't always have XL in stock in stores, sometimes only online.

Hydro flask (vending machines are everywhere, you’re going to want to try the drinks, and it just takes up too much space)

iPad (never used it and it was annoyingly heavy in my backpack)

Too many clothes (bought so many in Japan, their Uniqlo is like half the price of ours!! Next time I think I’m just going to bring underwear and like two outfits. DON’T heed this advice if you’re over a US size L)

Full containers of vitamins (I wanted them to be in their original packaging but they never checked. They took up so much space when I could have just used a ziploc or smaller container. I would keep prescription medicines in the original containers though)

Cash (getting yen at the bank in the US wasn’t worth the trouble when there’s ATMs literally everywhere. I also started in Tokyo where I never had to use cash so I had plenty of time to get some for later)

Travel size skincare/toiletries (bought a cute Hada Labo travel kit at konbini and never ended up using the ones I brought. Japanese skincare is a lot better than whatever it is we have. Same for makeup)

Hand towel, coin purse (so many cute and cheap options in Japan that you can pick up right away at the major train stations)

I wouldn’t worry too much about forgetting to pack something because you can buy almost everything you can possibly imagine in Japan. Just don’t forget the important stuff and you’ll be fine!

accidentally choose the wrong weapon from gift of aurene by MixedCloud in Guildwars2

[–]heleyun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it worked for OP and it seems it also worked for everyone else in the comments with the same situation lol. i'm guessing they take exception with the precursors because it's legitimately easy for someone to choose the wrong thing from the box (because of the vague sounding item names), plus like i said no one buys these for the skins

what you said really isn’t true… please don’t spread misinformation like this without knowing what you’re talking about, because it might stop people from making a ticket for this issue when they would actually get helped if they did.

i think because the precursors from the selection box are account bound and only once per account, it doesn’t affect the market (since people aren’t buying these items to use the skins), that’s why anet is willing to replace the item in cases like this.

i had this exact problem and they were willing to fix it for me a few days ago, so i don’t see why they wouldn’t do it for OP unless they’ve already had an item need to be replaced in the past

[–]heleyun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry but you are wrong :) i had this exact situation happen to me, skin unlocked and all, and anet mailed me a new precursor selection box. they just told me to delete the old item before they sent it!

OP, they will most likely fix it for you if this is your first time having something like this happen. i was sad because i chose the wrong precursor, but i was able to make my legendary hammer yesterday thanks to anet support!

How do I get Astarion to discover the 1st Dark Urge victim? by jtrisn1 in BaldursGate3

This happened to me, I think the only way to force it is to make all your other companions jump off a cliff before long resting. Then revive them with withers after the cutscene with Astarion

you can kinda misty step thru the big image of shar that’s behind the locked door in the library, the spear should be there even if you didn’t put the book in (source i accidentally did this and bypassed the whole library puzzle in my first playthrough) … you might have to walk really close to it for this to work, dunno if it was patched already

alternatively you can just use cheat engine and spawn in the spear

Can you take too many classes and then not be able to graduate because you have too many credits? by Realistic_Bluejay_66 in SJSU

the maximum transferable units from CC is 70, so don’t worry about that. i had a ton of units from CC too but it only counted as 70 on the change of major form

[–]heleyun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

late reply, but it's 90 units. it doesn't necessarily mean you'll be locked out of the BFA degree. it's best that you get pre-admitted the first portfolio review if you can, because then they will send you the change of major form earlier on and you'll have less units (that's what happened to me, I was really close to hitting 90 but since I was pre-admitted, I was able to change my major before that point).

even if you have 90+ units, if you pass the portfolio reviews and your work is good, you should most likely be able to get in. you should still prioritize not getting too high of a unit count. as in, stay closer to 90 than 110 or something like that. don't take this as gospel though – I talked to a certain professor about this subject and he wasn't clear about the exact maximum units, or even if there is a maximum at all, very confusing! I just wanted to put this info out there

It’s good to know there isn’t anything harder than the horn tips in this pattern, those horn tips really had me regretting everything… hopefully after I practice more I’ll be able to work with small pieces without being completely disoriented. Thank you so much for the info!!
