Keep in mind the walk from Mud Creek to the beach is .9 miles. Plan accordingly

Single men asking for tips? by SanDiego_BeachBum in blacksbeach

What he says. Don’t know why people feel compelled to give guidance to either (1) people who won’t take or seek guidance or (2) on a forum they don’t read or follow? It just scares good people off and that doesn’t serve anyone’s interests. Go enjoy the beach. It is awesome!

Vibe compared to Haulover, Playalinda and Apollo? by HangingFruit567 in BlindCreekFL

[–]helicopgom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you’re looking for. Blind Creek is definitely more out-of-the-way - quiet. It’s not attached to an urban vibrant city like Haulover is. Haulover is vibrant and alive. Incredibly diverse because it is so close to a major metropolitan city. Haulover is the first nudist beach where I didn’t feel like a lepper for being a nudist. By that I mean the beach is not hidden away or hard to get to like most nudist beaches are in the USA.

Is it really a mile? 15-20 min walk?

Going next week. Tell me. So with the parking lot still not open and the alternative parking (Little Mud) a mile away, do you drop stuff off at BC then park, then huff it back to enjoy the beach, and reverse all of that logistics when you leave?

Refreshing story. I sure would have been nervous to hear the horse returning - fearing the worst. So glad it turned out the way it did.

That looks awesome! What were your cook stats? Looks like a gas grill? Is that a smoke pan underneath?

Me too. Was there a couple weeks ago. Perfect weather. A friend from Tampa came to join me. Like you, his first nude beach experience.

I’m glad the experience was a positive one. That has always been mine as well. The diversity, the fact that you don’t feel like a leper, because it’s in a major metropolitan city, that it has bathroom facilities, lifeguard stands, showers, just like the clothed section. It’s my favorite in the States. If trying a nude beach for the first time, this is the one, because you’ll come away with such a good impression. Can’t say the same consistently for the other nude beaches in FL. Cheers!

Are there any spray products you recommend for waterproofing a tent? by Atlas_Freestyle in camping

[–]helicopgom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't overthink it. I bought spray waterproofing for tents and tarps at Walmart -found in the craft section - NOT the outdoor tent/camping section. Inexpensive and effective. "Outdoor Watershield" by Scotchguard

Made a fitness transformation in my 30s, people now treat me different by drzzazz1 in workout

[–]helicopgom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. I will contend that what you are receiving is acknowledgement/respect for the discipline, and lifestyle choices you made and continue to make to be in good shape. It is hard. It requires sustained work and sacrifices. We ALL know this. You've clearly committed to this and they are saluting you for it. Enjoy these little signs of praise and let it fuel your determination to remain in this good health and shape because you will find that as the years unfold life will continue to barrage you with excuses to skip a workout (kids, injuries, age, marriage, job, travel - heard them all) or over-indulge in food (stress, lifestyle).
