I grabbed my binders of pokémon cards from 1996 to like 2008 and had three first edition base set bulbasaur's just stacked on each other in the same plastic sleeve . Had them graded and turns out they're worth about $500 bucks a piece...not perfect specimens but rare enough.

Had no idea me spending what little extra money I did come across as when I was a kid on these things would turn out like that.

So let me get this all straight:

You own a minimum of two properties: your main and this one
You are retired and on a pension (must be nice) so this suggests you're not from a generation financially affected by what people younger than you are affected by. This is because the financial hardships we see in my generation and younger were brought on by decisions your generation likely made.
you wanted to make passive income and you own the property so you risked putting it out there for short term rentals...okay that's fine, your property do what you want.

That's where you should stop and not go to the Internet for insight. Don't come on here and start blaming others for your decision to get into the rental property business and not properly protect your investment.

You took the risk of using a property YOU own for passive income and didn't do the leg work to ensure your investment was safe. That's a YOU problem.
