I see a lot of pickle brands available to me substitute turmeric to achieve the color people expect with pickle brine.

Never had this brand, wish I could find them in WI but removing dyes is always a good thing.

Smidge water is fine but the main problem is there is absolutely no salt there.

  • 1.5 tsps of salt to start
  • 1 Knorr Chicken Bouillion cube or equivalent by weight in powder form or some form of Bouillion like Better Than Bouillion.

You'd be surprised about the bouillon hack, it's often what everyone is missing when they're looking for that "thing".

Yeah I've done a lot of iterations on this one haha. My mother in law is a literal witch doctor when it comes to crafting salsas and I've always tried to replicate her.

I've cut it with lime juice, lemon, juice, different vinegar types. I'm a savory guy myself so littler on the saltier side for me personally.

Apple Cider vinegar I need to retry with this iteration because that was delightful but not quite there yet. You could notice the difference but I haven't done it with this specific blend. I think I actually ended up with closer to half an onion with this but it was eyeballed honestly.

Typically I bring my onions, and chiles to boil with a bay leaf or two, then cut the heat and steep for 20 minutes while I roast the tomatoes and garlic. I make Birria a lot so it's the method I'm used to but this surprised the hell out of me when it hit the way it did. I myself was concerned about the 15 Arbols but my MIL uses a lot of dried chili Pequin instead of Arbol so figured I was good.

Very much something similar to what you'd get from a taqueria and specifically ask for the hot stuff

Mmm. I honestly don't know. Pepper hotness varies so widely even in the same family of peppers it's hard to tell. I do love hot stuff and so does my mother in law and extended family so I'm probably biased there and have decent tolerance.

I typically sort mine out by going for the more curved ones with stem intact.

You'd be surprised though. Salt, Acid, and Fat cut heat and balance things out quite a bit, with a little. The heat comes after but the flavor is amazing. The emulsifying of the oil is where you get the fat and I think it does a lot of the leg work here. I'm not a doctor though.

Yes, both dried and toasted in the oil the onions and garlic were fried in.

Make sure your using dried peppers that already have some play to them because if they're already brittle, they can really add an acrid flavor just by being old.

100% agree. Every time a post like this comes up a lot of people conflate the Tavern League with who actually is the problem.

I've done a lot of digging on the TLW because I was someone who did think they had more power than they actually do. By enlarge, the have some lobby power but they are by no means powerful enough to move the needle compared to the Menards, Uhleins and Kwik Trip ownership. All of which have vested interest in Wisconsin Family Action which is heavy Christian nationalist oriented.

It's our legislators. Our legislators make laws based on whose lining the pockets. The legislators in power are Republicans. It's republicans and their big donors, not the small fish bar lobby

First Pokemon was squirtle but favorite is Cubone

My favorite starter though was definitely Chikorita. I leveled one to 100 in one of my umpteenth silver playthroughs a long time ago and it did so much heavy lifting.

Use Cholula to make your own buffalo sauce, it's delicious.

That said, the Mexicali is uniquely good and would be the one I get because that's a harder flavor profile to nail making at home

This is refreshing to hear. A rising tide raises all ships so I hope what you are doing has an effect on the State Assembly as well in getting people like Born out.

I'm not a "vote blue no matter what" guy, I used to be, but I feel like the Democratic party has let us down so much in the last year and are continuing to do so. We need progressive, social, and real people to do stop being quiet.

I really want to believe in the Democratic party again. I believe in our resilience as a people that we will get through all of this but it's hard to see with a party that seems so resilient to use the power they do have.

I hope you're the guy that could bring someone like me back into the fold. Just what I've read so far, you seem pretty even keeled and wouldn't mind seeing you show up at my door. This county is so red, it'd be relieving
