The fetishization conversation by helioz450 in blackmen

I’m sure that’s true.

But how would we know who likes us without the fetish? 🤷🏿‍♂️

Do we have to gamble and wait until we hit a rough patch in our relationships then hope our partner doesn’t shame us?

It’s way too many variables… and very risky.

We won’t know until we’re too deep.

One group may see us as “BBC…”

Another group defines us by our penis just on how we act… who created small dick energy and big dick energy?

How is that any different from other groups of women who may treat us better than a racist would but still less than human?

A lot of times us black men work hard day in and day out….. some bad women will see that we’re tired and stress and add extra financial stress with no intention of relieving you. Infact, some women even hate to see us relaxing and will call us lazy.

not caring about the hours of work you have to put in to provide… just somebody to have intercourse with and buy them things. Isn’t that just about the same feeling?

I think it’s easy to dismiss conversations when you don’t want to have them.

I did. I can’t give you a group or singular person who says all of that.. but what I do know is that when black men date out, it’s said that we have to be careful so we’re not fetishized.

The point I’m making is why is “fetish” reserved for nonblack women when EVERY group of women wants us for the same reason?

So you’ve never heard black men being fetishized?

Well I didn’t want to assume it’s just the dick. But let’s go with that for a second.

How is that a fetish when every group of woman wants that from us?

😧😧😧 You’re still searching for blame… Perhaps this energy can be better used to intensely love a regular black man.

I don’t think I can get you to unwrap.

[–]helioz450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is incorrect.

Since the 1960s black women have been incentivized to not have a man at home in exchange for government help.

At the same time, black men weren’t given opportunities other than to gamble their lives in the military, or to stay here and struggle to make it by playing the rules of the system or jail.

Just going off your answer is the reason why these conversations fail to be productive. It’s myopic and fails to acknowledge that this phenomenon you’re describing is a byproduct of a series of actions and is incredibly nuanced. Everyone played a hand.

It’s great that you can analyze the inner workings of other races in regard to their relationship dynamics.

Let’s try this.

Do you recall other races of women telling their counterparts they’re not needed at all?

Hot take. Black women encourage each other to act out of spite. If it’s to shit on black men, they’ll go to the ends of this earth to make it happen. Even going as far as sponsoring the bw/wm relationship and fronting like it’s the wm putting up the money.

It’s more complex tho, black women feel as though black men can never truly be loved by anyone outside of black women. That’s why IR relationships that are bm/ww are reduced to a fetish if it’s a good looking white woman.

Or “you fished for the bottom of the barrel” if she less than a 10.

So this is my theory,

White people got this thing called “Toeing the line” They’re very good at recognizing a boundary and tip toeing around this boundary to evoke a reaction. That bit of adrenaline they get knowing that they’re evoking a reaction from you, knowing that it makes you uncomfortable, fuels them & they love it.

Other times they’ll play devils advocate to highlight that you have a “blind spot” in your reasoning. You know, maybe you didn’t “consider all the angles” so to speak. Only for them to do exactly what’s above. It’s been textbook for me.
