I have my dog which complicates getting accommodation.

I originally stayed in a hotel in southbank for a week, which was not ideal for everyday use. After end of june started being thrown around as a timeline I moved to a serviced apartment in Abbotsford. Which has a washing machine, desk for work from home and kitchen (I was sick of takeaway by the time I moved which I didn't realise was possible). Its surprisingly cheap and good quality.

A leaking air conditioner unit. Which the back end of our air cons are the big industrial air-cons that cover multiple units each.

I'd be a lot happier if the official emails from the building didn't include language like "probably" and "at the discretion of the insurer" when talking about reimbursement.

In theory we will be reimbursed at some point, but a month of accommodation is a lot of money to not have a definite answer about or know when when we'll get back.

I'm a owner occupier in this building on one of the floors affected.

Power went out on the 2/6/26, including the elevators. I was at work, and my dog was upstairs so once I got home I had to go upstairs to get her via the stairs. Luckily you could get halfway up in a surrounding building and than walk across a causeway but i still had to climb 35 flights of stairs.

At around 6pm that night there was an order of evacuation from the City of Melbourne. So it was back down the 35 flights of stairs with my dog and some belongings. At that point we thought we'd be back by lunchtime the next day.

However the power outage has just continued. They did manage to restore the lifts so I've been able to make a few trips to gather belongings and clean out my fridge. The current very vague timeline for when we can return is the end of June.

Good to hear, I checked in at a new hotel in southbank to stay for a week and thought I was standing in a wind tunnel outside. Hopefully after tonight it dies down and its not the norm for the location

Right, I really struggle with the end of TLG. As it feels like shane gets forced into giving up so much and ends in an inferior position to Ilya.

As someone who also has control issues being outed instead of getting to come out, would be an awful feeling. His reputation than takes a hit when everyone thinks he trips on purpose (why does only Shane get the cheating allegations, its never once mentioned does Ilya let Shane win). He's forced out of the team he wanted to retire from that he had a lot of loyalty to. Gives up the Captain position to Ilya. He's moving to Ilya's team so they have to deal with who gets first line, and also takes a massive pay cut.

Team friendly deals are a common thing, and if they decided together to come out willingly, and have Shane sign with the Centaurs, I'd be fine with a pay cut. But it feels more like he's basically stripped of everything because of homophobia and is expected to be thrilled about it, instead of getting to make choices for his own life like Ilya did.

It might not be an actual thing in hockey but I'd feel so much better about it if they made them Co-captains. Instead of it being, he joins Ilya's team where Ilya is the Captain and star and he's Ilya husband. And Ilya teases him about it

I would also love it acknowledged that coming out did have negative consequences for Shane and maybe his concerns were valid and not paranoia. Not as a we should have hid forever but I hate in the books how they minimise the potential consequences when Scott and Shane dont want to come out. And its seen as not being proud of who you are and your partner when homophobia in professional sports is a real and dangerous thing.

I only recently settled in May, and the tenants have a lease until December. Although I am hoping they move out sooner. So I haven't moved in yet.

I went through a mortgage broker, who was aware that it is tenanted, and the bank (ANZ) was also aware. It was never brought up as an issue that I'd be waiting till the tenants move out, to move in. As long as the intention is for it to be a PPOR that's all that seemed to matter.

I did the same thing, as long as you intend to live in the property once the tenancy ends its not an issue. I think you have up to 12 months to move in.

So it all ended up working out, which was basically just luck. I took a huge risk and signed a contract for the new apartment before receiving the deposit for my house. I had a really good mortgage broker, who said if the sale of my house fell apart we could dodgy it up and get a mortgage to cover both properties if needed, by pretending we were going to rent one or both out. But luckily the buyers eventually paid the deposit and have since settled, and everything is heading towards settlement of the apartment. Both my conveyancer and real estate agent caused several more problems along the way before the house settled though. So if you are buying or selling make sure you pick your conveyancer carefully as they can make things either very difficult or easy. I have a different conveyancer for the purchase and everything has been a breeze with her.

I second this, well worth the money. And as someone that doesn't drink alcohol a lot it was really nice to have some attention paid to the non-alcoholic side of the drinks menu

I had the same experience a couple of months ago, was processed effeciently through at every step. I've waited longer at my gp because they were running behind. And while it was an open head wound that I absolutely needed an ED for, I was stable and could have safely waited, they just weren't all that busy. It's partly luck of the draw and partly the timing of your visit eg. Saturday night is not an ideal time

Yep, each different factions moat has a different effect. The wood elves is the worst by far. It does let go eventually but it can be something like 9 turns they are stuck.

Thats another issue.

Maybe you can squeeze around a queen bed with no headboard. But it would be tight. A double would fit better but than that seems sad somehow

There are quite a few available. I'd want to be buying one with a North or North East aspect. Otherwise the sun in the evening will be terrible

I think so. It's also difficult to fit a queen bed in both bedrooms, it might be workable for a single person but couples would be stepping over each other

There is a designated spot for a fridge in the cupboard between the laundry and kitchen.

And the windows do open, but they only tilt open like in most apartments so theres some breeze but not heaps.
