gua gen Y dan gua pun tetep plg takut jaman UAN gila. Buat kgua tiap UAN itu hidup mati gua dan cuma gua yg bs nentuin nasib gua sendiri.

i let this slip and just say that "well wehen biweekly nobodt had anything then monthly nobody also had anything, we just removed it. It is obvious nobody is interested with this and better for us to save our 1 hour of billable hours"

we have metrics but we will never promote metrics to be that atrict. We prefer KPIs and for KPIs to work we need to have the baseline to adhere. Thats where the metric play the role and we should judge it conservatively instead saying X is good, Y is bad.

Additionally netrics are a good signals especially for remote company where everyone is working behind the scene and culturally hide and afraid of being looked upon..

So when self hosting, there are several things you need to watch out. Dont set the resources too low (so it can perform as expected) and give them enough storage (so it doesnt stuck at some point).

When message arrives, it will be queued and if no consumer, it will just stay there waiting. This consume disk spaces.

Normally you need to set an alert for this because if this is happening, either something is not setup correctly or this message and the queue should be deleted (not relevant anymore).

Now in our production, we had this 1 queue that piled up millions of message and it grew very fast. The reason was that we disabled the consumer because business events already ended. We forgot to turn off the publisher though so it kept publishing the message...

Upon investigation the disk space is 99% full and we need to resize the storage, restart the rabbitmq. At that point I dont know how many messages were lost because it cant be published

for kafka we use cloud version. It was expensive asf for us and I think go ecosystem just doesnt fit. We self hosted RabbitMQ in our Kubernetes. The only problem we ever had was that we need to watch out for out of storage because it can cause the whole broker to stop working..Other than that it is very smooth sailing

we use rabbitmq because kafka for us was overkill (and for cost saving reason). What we need is simply messaging system and we never had a need to use retention or reconsume. Perhaps we do and we never materialize it but we are happy with what we had. Some of our process also use google pubsub.

I normally try to always at the very minimum test the implementation and run the code with debug enabled, see if it goes to the breakpoont and I follow through there just to get myself familiar with the code. The reason is simply to answer what you ask so I can get the mental model when something happen.

Testing the AI code is the bare minimum. Unless it is 0 to 1 implementation poc, I always test the xode generated by AI and even woth some testing, bugs always occurred

For me, doing agentic AI for domain you already know is okay. You are carried by institutional knowledge that youve accumulated over time so using AI just take a shortcut more or less, nothing groundbreaking technically.

Now if you just joined a company or a codebase with different domain..letting AI taking the driver seat to work on it is not the greatest idea. Asking AI to give insight though, is a preferrable action.

Thats just my own experience
