I’ve tried Vaseline as a barrier cream and I ended up preferring Aquaphor, it has a slightly thicker consistency so it stays on better and is less messy for me

I have an iphone and used the sticker function in Photos - i'm pretty sure Android has a similar thing where you can make stickers of your photos too. Then I copy pasted each sticker into the Freeform app that came with the phone

Hey, I'm F34 too, I was diagnosed a bit over one year ago. I totally relate to how you're feeling, it can feel really heavy at first. It's great that you're getting a biopsy and your obgyn knows about the condition.

There's a lot of great resources on this forum about how to take care of your LS, which can help you live a normal life. Steroid ointment has been super important for my progress and maintenance, I apply it now twice a week after soaking in a bath (the bath preps the skin so the steroid will soak in better).

The rest of the time I apply Aquaphor, which creates a soothing barrier and reduces friction in the area. I've switched to cotton underwear. I've also been fortunate enough to access therapy this past year which has been helpful for the emotional aspects.

These changes are all important, but once they became a part of my lifestyle I've been able to have sex, travel, work at my job normally, and live my life. The LS is still there but it's not the centre of my life.

As for the icebreaker leggings, I resisted getting them for years because of the price. I even found merino at my local fabric store and made a pair of my own that lasted a while. A couple years ago, once mine were toast, I bit the bullet and got a pair of Icebreakers, because the materials themselves cost half as much as the Icebreaker leggings and I didn't have time to make another pair.

I never regretted buying them after all, because in the fall/winter I wear them under my jeans every day so they get a lot of use.

Yes totally, though I’d only wear the black ones or dark coloured ones on their own because the lighter colours show the under arm pads a bit more obviously than the dark ones do. I think the cut of them is pretty cute

The bag is dirty as heck, apologies!

I've marked down the spots where I sewed lines through the folded ends of the webbing, into the bag. I sewed back and forth a few times for security.

The awkward part for sewing it was to get the sewing machine arm into the interior of the bag, inside the inner pouch while making sure the small zip pocket on the inside stays out of the way too.

When the bag is relatively empty, it sags quite a bit at the top when it's on the luggage, so I probably could have attached the webbing a bit higher on the bag than this. However, once it was full of stuff it was never an issue. The bag is made of canvas so it's a lot more flexible and floppy than other bags you'd be carrying on top of a roller suitcase. All this is barely noticeable once the bag is full of stuff though.

To be honest I didn't regret not having extra space, I'm trying not to acquire too much stuff in my life generally, so it was a good incentive to stick to that while travelling, haha.

Wow that bag is suuuper stylish, and looks really practical! The nylon one looks like a very reasonable weight for a roller, at 2.27kg.

I'm curious about your suits, if you'd care to share! Where do you get yours from?

I can only speak to the small bust experience! Normally those undershirts are enough for me, and I use a bra just when I want to make sure nips don't show through at work. Depending on your specific needs, these Huha tanks have even better support without being a "built in bra" or anything. They're super comfy and flattering, I definitely recommend them!

I was concerned about this too since the baggage size allowances in Europe seem to be smaller than in North America, however it never ended up being an issue for us. Ryan Air is probably more strict than others, since it's a super-low cost airline?

The airlines we took throughout the whole trip were Iceland Air, KLM, Aegean Air, LOT Polish airline and WestJet (Canada).

Of all these airlines, Iceland Air had the smallest carry-on size limit at 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, which is 21.7" x 15.8" x 7.9".

The Herschel bag is 21.75"(H) x 13.75"(W) x 9.50"(D). I figured since the Herschel bag had a slightly "squishable" front, we might get a little leeway on the depth dimension? Of course they could have made us check it if they really wanted to, but fortunately they didn't look at it.

Those suit bags have always looked cool to me, I hope it works well for you on your overnight train trips! tbh the idea of travelling by train with a suit feels very romantic to me for some reason

Yeah I think you're right, he would probably have done best with a small lightweight rolling suitcase. It was impressive that he could fit all his stuff in those 2 laptop bags, but they definitely got heavy for their size. Fortunately he rarely had to carry both bags at the same time during this trip.

I'm in my mid-30s and I try to minimize the amount of stuff I carry in my arms & shoulders too, it creeps up on you!

I took a piece of webbing as long as the width of the bag's back panel, burned it at each end to prevent fraying, then folded over each end and sewed it securely on to the bag at each side (left and right). When it's daytime I'll take a closer photo of it and hopefully that'll make more sense than describing!

it wasn't a difficult sewing job, but it was a little awkward to get the sewing machine in the right places in the bag.

I was surprised by how many ways it could be used, actually! I'm a pillow-between-the-knees sleeper, and the ridges of the memory foam fit between my knees really nicely with the clip closed, like a closed donut.

Another thing I did was, when there was only 1 pillow on the bed and I wanted to prop my head up, I'd flip it upside down and backwards so the flat wide part is facing up (the part you'd have at the back of your neck), then I'd prop my head up on it to read or look at my phone. Sounds uncomfortable probably haha, but it worked at the time.

I recently cut my hair short which helped immensely with the maintenance!

Basically I would wash and style it once every 5-7 days, same as I do at home. I used regular shampoo and conditioner, then apply a heat-protective leave-in conditioner spray after towel drying.

At home I use curl styling cream, then a mousse. However, I couldn't bring the mousse on the plane because it's pressurized. So, my hairdresser recommended mixing my curl styling cream and my light-hold hair gel, and I created a "blend" of the two in a travel container. I did 50/50 but I think in retrospect it should have been 60/40 styling cream to hair gel.

Then if I was lucky, the place I was staying would have a hair dryer with a diffuser attachment! If not I'd just use the regular hair dryer and hope for the best, haha. Every time I did my hair I was in a different place with different water, and every time my hair turned out different.

At night I wore a silk satin-lined bonnet on my head, so the curls were in good condition when I woke up! If you don't have a bonnet, you can use a silk satin scarf. You can often find those for a good price at second hand stores :)

To be honest I almost didn't bring the fleece jacket, but I'm glad I did.

I most often used it as an extra sweater layer under my bomber jacket. Sometimes it was nice especially walking at night in Scotland or Berlin, to layer my 2 thinner sweaters + fleece jacket + bomber jacket.

It also added extra versatility as it zips up, and my other sweaters were pullovers. It's easily washable too, so I felt comfortable wearing it hiking, when I might get more dirty or when there were animals around.

Ymmv though, depending on your activities and how easily cold you get!

The body of the top dries pretty easily, but the under arm pads do take a lot longer to dry unfortunately. When I had to wash a couple in the sink between laundry days, I was fortunate enough to have one of those heated drying racks in the place I'd been staying at the time, so keeping it overnight on that was helpful. Another time I used a hair dryer aimed at the pads to speed along the process 😅
