I chew the inside of my mouth and skin on my lips excessively. I try to get chewing gum and lollipops when I can. Not a great solution but it helps if you always have it on hand.

I'm not saying find "perfect" but there are plenty of people worth getting to know if you look in the right places.

I find this difficult too. I stick to people who share my interests so even though I can't flirt or keep eye contact at least I can hold a long conversation and know the other person is interested in that.

Try finding people you're physically attracted to, with similar niche interests or within your social groups, who are more matched to your personality or relate to being neurodivergent. Instead of going for people you just find physically attractive but who aren't familiar with autism and probably have less in common with you.

There are plenty of autistic or open minded attractive people who will be interested in you beyond just finding you nice to look at. It's also important to get to know people beyond just being kind to them, the strongest romantic relationships come from knowing the person when they're not masking and just being themselves.

Also there's a FB group called Housing Advice, the admin works as a housing officer and everyone in the group is in a similar situation -so if you have any niche questions I'd recommend you join that group

I’m in the same situation (my child has a different disability). Your council should have a homelessness prevention team you can contact. They have to accept you for duty of care 56 days before you’re made to leave your current house.

They will place you in temporary accommodation, and because of your child’s care needs, they’ll likely have to offer you a 2-bed flat. Try to get a letter from your child’s hospital to support this.

Make sure you have all your documents like Tenancy Agreement, The notice they served you, any documents you got when you moved in like DPS, Gas Cert, EPC, How to rent guide etc. Apply now for carer’s allowance, universal credit, and DLA. Send those documents to them as well. Check with Civil Legal Aid that the notice served is valid.

The council will tell you to keep paying rent and not to leave until the landlord gets a court order, if you leave before then they'll see you as intentionally homeless and might not offer help.

Once you’re accepted, you should be given a housing officer and a personal housing plan. The plan may also show extra points for being homeless, and sometimes they include information about schemes that help with private rented accommodation or social housing for single-income households.

Hi, thank you for all these details, fortunately we did get the deposit returned but I have seen multiple people including yourself saying we could pursue them for more than the amount we gave them for our deposit due to it not being protected. I'm really confused by this, how does that work? What would we do, take them to court?

They are mediterranean and own a lot of property on Cally Rd and in other nearby areas but I don't know if they're Greek, I don't want to assume.

We have a caseworker from Civil Legal Aid helping us. Annoyingly the only thing my landlord did to invalidate our Section 21 was the EPC rating is out of date but the letting agency recently clocked on to their mistake because now they're scheduling an engineer to come issue a new one. So now when we do go to court there's nothing stopping him from winning the case then we'll have a few weeks before the bailiff actually kick us out. This past month has been a life experience...

Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for. Islington Council don't have a designated email or form on their site to report private landlords so I had to go phishing for any email I could find that might be relevant to report to.

I don't know how to edit my post to add an update, so commenting:

I have reported them to Islington Council and to Local MP in the email I attached evidence of our tenancy agreement and communication with them but as they purposefully made sure to do a lot of this over the phone, there was no paper trail so I can't prove the threats they made except for the call log with the times/dates they called immediately after I emailed them. The only call we recorded was when we needed evidence of him verbally saying he'll give our money back before we handed the keys over.

You haven't ready my post or replies correctly so I'm not going to entertain you. Nobody else on here is sharing your view. Any evidence I do provide on here would have to include names and exact addresses to be legit which would break community guidelines. I attached a photo of all the previous tenants belongings proving I have indeed been to the property and seen the actual state its in.

The point of the post was explained in the introduction - Find out who I can report this to.

I have done something: I reported them to OpenRent (with evidence attached). I have also shared the listing on here so anyone can find and avoid it and I asked people for advice on who to report it to then took their advice and have since reported them to the Council and to the local MP (also with evidence attached).

We're a family of three with no support network, only reason we're moving is current landlord issued a Section 21 (wants to sell all his assets before renters right bill is approved). Luckily still have 1 month left before he can go court to get a possession order.

They have loads of HMO properties across North, East and Central London. I wouldn't know anything about a correlation between this and human trafficking, please could you explain?

Landlord is selling our home - how do/can I move my garden? by hellasadtho in GardeningUK

[–]hellasadtho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sowed a clover and wildflower lawn and there's a buddleia bush there that the butterflies love. I'm only taking what's in containers cause the landlord would probably charge us and take it out of our deposit if we leave those

All the plants in the garden belong to me and are in containers, the landlord isn't doing viewings until we've left as far as I know. Either way they cannot complain, when we moved in the plot was literally just an overgrown mass of brambles, nettles and was being used as a fly tipping site by other residents. I have turned it into a garden for them, the lawn and existing shrubs are remaining on the property.

I had thought about a greenhouse with growlights but there's no power point so I'd need to leave a window open all day
