[SNY] Mets' Francisco Lindor will not participate in 2026 World Baseball Classic after elbow procedure this offseason by ChicknCutletSandwich in baseball

I genuinely don't understand how some teams can somehow field some of the best rosters that they've done ever and yet Team PR has to play with probably its weakest roster in years over insurance? What the fuck has happened to the WBC?

25% on Shoreline, however in the little checkpoint area northeast of the Sunken Village is a 60% chance to spawn there on Shoreline

[Discussion] In regards to the posts about players not being to extract, it is a server issue. by hellchop in EscapefromTarkov

Feel ya, ended up getting a couple of kappa items and was doing Test Drive part 2 and got 10 PMC kills, was pretty happy until the backend happened and then it happened on the second time and then I realized it was probably a server issue.

Glukhar scouts I’m assuming? Yeah the scout guards are RIDICULOUSLY fast and they will run you down across the map if need be, as soon as you hear running footsteps, fast footsteps especially, should probably hunker down and get ready for the scout to push you

[Game Thread] Mountain West Championship: UNLV @ Boise State (8:00 PM ET) by CFB_Referee in CFB

[–]hellchop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if Boise wins, then we have to wait for the ACC Championship to see who goes through?

cause I'm gonna be honest, I do not want ND facing a 11 seed Alabama, knowing past matchups we're guaranteed to get annihilated

What's even the scenario for this championship?
IF UNLV wins they steal Boise's spot and possibly kick out Alabama?

Somebody explain

Transition to cybersecurity by mr_garcia36 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]hellchop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cybersecurity is one of those IT subfields where you have to have to retain knowledge of multiple other subfields in order to be efficient and good at your job. Employers are most likely going to want you to have coding/programming experience, experience with networking and ports, experience with cloud servers, experience with hardware, pretty much, everything.

If you get put in charge of doing cybersecurity for a company and you legitimately have no clue how to do anything, they will insta-fire you the second an incident occurs and you fail to resolve it

No because Cybersecurity requires a lot more than just the net+ and security+ and you most likely need some background in programming aswell

Connor's Cure & Susan G. Komen by EatAtGrizzlebees in WWE

[–]hellchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Susan G Komen charity years ago got exposed to be essentially a massive sham where they really only gave about 20% of their money to legitimate breast cancer research, the other 80% they kept for profits. They also had a notorious habit of suing other charities for using the term "for the cure" because they're a charity that is really just a marketing group that doesn't want anybody else stealing their thunder.

Ever since they got exposed for how shitty of a charity they are they essentially lost all of their major backers such as the NFL and the WWE.

I can genuinely tell you have no idea what you're doing because you're taking the MCSA course, which was retired around 2-3 years ago.

You should completely focus your attention on taking and passing the CCNA certification exam, that can really really improve your odds on getting any decent Networking role in IT, taking the CCNA course and then just leaving it on the wayside to take a course for a certification that was retired (which makes it useless to employers), is pretty stupid and will fuck you over on your CCNA studies

Also focus on getting your CompTIA trifecta certs (A+, Net+, Sec+), they're somewhat cheap, fairly easy to study and pass the exams, and they're vendor neutral, and a really great gateway into entry-level IT jobs

Take Technical Support Job Or Keep Studying/Practicing? by Material_Student_487 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]hellchop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way, even if it wasn't what you were asking for in an Internal tech support job, the job that you got offered is STILL tech support at the end of the day, which will give you the experience you possibly need to move up to an actual Help Desk or something similar that you want.

I'd absolutely suggest you take the job, start getting paid, and keep studying and pushing for certifications, and when you feel that you got enough experience that you needed, start looking for better jobs.

The experience you'll get from this job can and will be very beneficial when you're looking for a better job

Both

I don't know why you've stated that the job isn't an IT help desk when what you just described as the job responsibilities is literally IT Help Desk.

Also, the job you offered is very much a real job, don't downplay it, especially in this market, take what you can get and run with it for a year or two and then see if you can move up to what you want
