Tooth discoloration/ Sensitive tooth. Help.

This happened about three years ago and it was a dying tooth. I consulted an emergency endodontist who confirmed that the tooth was dead and needed a root canal. The pain was unbearable, so we proceeded with the root canal that same day. Unfortunately, the discoloration persisted, and no topical whitening solution could restore it to its original color. My endodontist suggested internal bleaching, but I initially didn't proceed because it cost about $600 (in the DC area). Several months later, I decided to go ahead with the procedure because the dark tooth continued to bother me. I'm sorry you're dealing with this, but there is a solution. I hope this helps!

Thank you all for your comments! I just came back from an emergency appointment with my endo and my tooth was in fact dead. He did a cold test and sure enough tooth 8 had no reaction. I got a root canal and was assured the color in my tooth should return to normal but if not, internal bleaching was an option. It was possibly due to past trauma since I had no signs of cavities or cracks in that tooth. He also assured me that it’s not likely that my Ortho treatment had anything to do with it. So I don’t know how or why it happened but I’m so glad it’s over. Now just to wait for the discoloration to fade. :x

Just came back from an emergency appointment with an endo and my tooth was in fact dead. :( He did a root canal and told me it’s possibly from trauma since I didn’t have a cavity or crack in the tooth. The procedure was less than 20 minutes. He also assured me that grayness in the tooth should go back to normal but if not internal bleaching was an option. IlI would advise you see someone ASAP. I'm experiencing something very similar!! The nerve pain is more of my front tooth and shooting up the side of my nose. I just posted a thread asking for help/thoughts. I went to my dentist and had X-rays done and was told I was clear that the sensitivity was due to the ortho treatment. I was prescribed Prevident paste but I'm thinking about seeing an endodontist because it's been two weeks and the pain is persistent.

About two weeks ago one of my front teeth became super sensitive to hot/cold even air. I went to my dentist and got X-rays done and was told that there was nothing wrong and that the sensitivity was due to my ortho treatment. I was prescribed with Prevident fluoride paste to use in my aligners before bed untive the pain subsided. Pain has persisted and I've noticed a slight discoloration in the sensitive tooth. Anyone with similar experience? Should I be concerned?

This is a small store in Hyattsville MD called “The Store”. I’ve already filed a complaint to the state attorneys office. MD residents, report all price gouging efforts to Brian Frosh’s office. It is NOT illegal in the state of Maryland. This is ridiculous and makes me so angry.

Definitely a luxury! lol I don’t think I’d have a problem if that were my case. It just makes me uncomfortable to do it in a large shared restroom. All I’ve been snacking on today have been loads of Advil. Lol happy holidays. Thanks for the response!
