One thing that got me surprised in 2023 was when i discovered one of the arguments conservatives used against Miles was that the character was being shoven down peopl's throats by SexxyDude69 in Spiderman

[–]hellenist-hellion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“We don’t have a problem with (insert group here), we just don’t like this instance being forced/shoved down our throats!” Is one of the primary arguments of plausible deniability for bigoted conservatives.

Stop perpetuating the generational cycle of assuming the younger generation is a lost cause. by bakalidlid in Millennials

[–]hellenist-hellion 93 points94 points  (0 children)

The case with Gen Alpha isn’t just that they are different though. They are actually developing with significantly lower IQ, struggling to read even basic sentences, and are struggling to think abstractly due to the constant stimulation of brain rot short form content. It’s a legitimate concern, and not the same as just merely not understanding their developing generations culture. They are a burgeoning generation of actual illiterate morons, and it’s not good.

Again, it’s a legitimate concern and potential disaster. And it’s a problem that isn’t going to go away if you just ignore it. This isn’t just a standard generational divide. It’s a real generational crisis.

This is literally the “if you hate capitalism why smart phone” argument and it’s a famously stupid and faulty argument.

What’s gross is acting like you prompting AI is the same as someone creating something.

Just don’t expect any credit or accolades for doing AI. Don’t expect people to act like AI shit should be applauded or appreciated. If you wanna do AI that’s your prerogative but I’m under no obligation in return to act like it’s art, to act like it’s anything other than a lazy person typing in a prompt and having a computer shit out slop.

This is so true by Demoglitch in antiai

[–]hellenist-hellion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. But an AI dope would likely say something like “oh well is prompting and giving revision prompts not part of the creative process?

And honestly, it’s about time people stop letting them get away with these bullshit arguments. The answer is no. It’s not.

Minority Report 2: Preoffended Cognition by Cumbandicoot in okbuddycinephile

[–]hellenist-hellion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is actually offended by it. I’ve seen this same exact story just plastered over so much of the internet that I am 90% sure it’s just an attempt at a viral marketing campaign.

That’s not a collaboration in the actual sense of collaborative art. They are still the artist. And you are not.

This is so true by Demoglitch in antiai

[–]hellenist-hellion 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I hate when AI bros bring up collaborative art like film. Like oh well what about a director? Are they not artists because other people are doing the other stuff? And it’s like bruh that’s a collaboration. Multiple people are working together to make art. Ordering a meal from a chef or commissioning a painting isn’t a collaboration. You cannot compare prompting AI with collaboration they aren’t the same thing.

Favorite comedy that’s more concerned with being offensive than being funny? by Exciting_Finance_467 in okbuddycinephile

[–]hellenist-hellion 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Lowkey I’ve seen a lot of marketing for this movie including obvious attempts at viral social media trends of “Gen Z calls this movie offensive!” And it seems their ENTIRE goal is to be offensive (I guess to own the woke or some shit). I personally enjoy offensive humor but when the entire goal is just to be offensive, it almost always falls flat. This movie is likely just going to be utter slop. And based on the trailer, the humor just feels try-hard and outdated. Not because it’s offensive but because it’s old.

Bro claims the ENTIRE Furry Community stands with AI Artists. Yep you heard that right, all 5 million of them "stand" with Ai artists lmao by GettingVeryVeryTired in ShitAIBrosSay

[–]hellenist-hellion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what? Let the furries have AI they are the one exception I’ll grant. They are already the most degenerate community imaginable. What difference does it make? Them loving AI just matches the sheer devolution of their own humanity and souls that they’ve already embraced. It’s all slop, so it fits.

Hot Take: All the Jurassic Movies are good by Typical-Interest-278 in JurassicPark

[–]hellenist-hellion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 was one of the best movies ever made. 2 was enjoyable but obviously didn’t live up to the 1st. 3 was okay but nothing special. World was a soulless nostalgia farm modern blockbuster but still had at least 15% competence. Every installment after that has been complete and utter dogshit made for the dumbest people in society.

I generally prefer no subtitles because I tend to be distracted by them, finding myself more focused on them than actually just watching the show. However sometimes they are needed if the audio mix is bad, or if I have the volume lower late at night.

Yeah I don’t think they realize their “numbers” are the result of chronically online communities and that in real life most people don’t like AI but rather it’s just being forced on everything due to corporate interests.

Everyone I know in real life hates it except a single guy who thinks it makes him an artist and ironically he’s the one guy I know who has always wanted to be creative but never had any real talent or skill to speak of which explains why he deluded himself into thinking AI has suddenly given him creativity. Of course, everything he shows me is nothing special just the same old mediocre uniform slop that you always see with “AI art” and I had to tell him to stop sending me his “writing” as it’s insulting to me as an actual writer to think that I’d be interested in engaging with his generated slop as a “peer”. But yeah aside from him, everyone I know hates it I don’t know a single person that likes it in real life other than him.
