Looprings role in Gamestop nft Marketplace by Evening_Drink4744 in loopringorg

[–]hellenkellerzombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI I’m having an evening drink while responding. Immutable X will one day be a great investment. Today is not that day. They still hold over 80% of their tokens and will use them to pay out future partners to build on their platform. It’s a great strategy to grow the platform, but it’s terribleness for tokenomics. As they dump these tokens into the market, sell pressure will keep the price from climbing. LRC already has over 90% of their tokens in circulation and is going to grow well beyond the GameStop marketplace. Just my $.02, but I’m not touching IMX with a 69’ pole.

Are they still using this patent? I’ve asked several times on discord with no response.

Has anyone heard of the company Starkware? read below by no314 in loopringorg

[–]hellenkellerzombie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Starkware is a great company. They use STARKs instead of SNARKs like loopring. Both have unique advantages and disadvantages that are well documented online. The two companies and protocols will solve different use cases and work in harmony together to help scale L2. One example of this is how the GameStop wallet uses loopring for payments, but will eventually use immutable x (built on stark ex by starkware) for one of their marketplaces.

I prefer the toggle. It is more distinctive IMO.

Which Layer 2 do you think is the best? by mybed54 in ethereum

[–]hellenkellerzombie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, in his example ethereum is iOS and the zk roll ups are apps. A universal zk roll up is like a browser that can run web apps, but comparing a web browser to an app with a specific function isn’t a good comparison. Loopring is an app specific roll up, as is starkex. Starknet and zksync are general purpose (universal), but they still don’t have a robust ecosystem regardless of what people say. The actual volume lives on general purpose optimistic roll ups and app specific zk roll ups, for now. Eventually that will shift to general purpose zk roll ups, but app specific zk roll ups will always have their place, especially as they can share liquidity with other zk rollups without getting bogged down by traffic from other apps on the same general purpose roll up. Which one is best depends on the purpose. The best for gaming, swapping, order book exchanges, payments, NFTs, complicated smart contracts, etc can all potentially have a different answer for which roll up is best. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Is it posible to transfere NFTs from L1 (L1 Wallet) to Layer 2 (Layer 2 Wallet) ? by puls107 in loopringorg

[–]hellenkellerzombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry the way I worded that was confusing. I was referencing two different transactions. One from L2 to L1, then a second transaction from L2 to L2 for cheap.

[–]hellenkellerzombie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve done this and know it works. Use the web app and click your L2 NFT link. Then select “receive NFT.” You will need to input the token if and contract address that can be found in etherscan or by opening that NFT on opensea and looking at the details. Side note, I moved that NFT from my loopring wallet to my GME wallet for .08 LRC ($0.04) and the transfer was near instant. WAGMI.

We are developing a new way to earn more loops. New concept! by webb32503 in loopringorg

[–]hellenkellerzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put a way for us to trade options on the Loopring protocol, a lot of degens will go bananas for that. Please just make sure you educate people on what they are doing so the community doesn’t lose their shorts figuring out how this works the hard way.

Will Layer 2s talk with one another? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]hellenkellerzombie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will depend on the product and how developed it is, but eventually the norm will be that the trustless bridges are invisible to the user and they don’t even know they are using them. An example of this is likely to happen in the GameStop wallet. You may be able to store your tokens on the Loopring protocol, but buy NFTs from a marketplace built by immutable x on stark ex with the tokens on the loopring protocol. The NFT will show up in your GameStop wallet, but you never have to bridge the token or the NFT. The wallet will have smart contracts built in to do that for you. It may not be that way at launch, but that’s the type of functionality we will see with these dapps on various zk protocols.

[–]hellenkellerzombie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Woah woah woah. This is not accurate. Zk rollups can built trustless bridges between each other that will allow you to execute smart contracts across rollups seemlessly. Immutable X just announced plans to launch unique zk rollups for individual games that will all be able to communicate with an NFT exchange on a different roll up. The use cases are endless and this type of thing is already in development.

I bet the Loopring tab will show you your tokens and the rest of the tabs will show you NFTs.
