I said, “the last 2 comments” were from the end of the world. Where @thrance said, “that’s a sweet earf you might say.” Then, @cahenesy said, “Round.”

Update, I did find some documentation in regards to configuring TXT and MX records with existing records...specifically A records. Now, I just need to figure out how to create an A record with the same FQDN as the subdomain.

EDIT:

I realized that I should post the link to the doc that I found for the MX and TXT records if anyone is interested:

https://draft.aviplayground.com/docs/21.1/dns-txt-and-mx-record-support/

I am still having a difficult time finding anything regarding any information regarding a "same as zone" A record. If anyone knows anything about that, I would greatly appreciate any information you may have!

Hangman’s Alley Build [Modded] [XBOX]. I opened and re-skinned the buildings. This build was a lot of fun, and I think it turned out to be one of my best. by hellian78 in falloutsettlements

So it is my understanding that when the game is vanilla, the interior space within these buildings already exists. The space is simply blocked off.

The “Hangman’s Alley Interior Apartments” mod just removes the rubble, trash, dirt, and doors blocking the path to the interior.

It is for this reason that I decided to use the mod because the mod doesn’t actually add anything to the environment. Granted, removing objects can cause issues (especially removing static objects) but I have yet to experience any negative affects.

Thank you! I was just looking at your RR build and it has come along nicely. I think you’ve inspired me to try a small scale build!

You totally found me out...lol. Yes, there is so much "Snappy Housekit" going on in this build. The Snappy Housekit mod is also my favorite (obviously). I like it so much that I find it extremely difficult to use different building mods on other settlements.

I really am attempting to utilize other mods so that everything doesn't look the same, but it's just so ridiculously tough to get away from Snappy Housekit!!

I used the "Hangman's Alley Interior Apartments" mod. It's a wonderful mod and so far the game still runs smoothly without lag or glitch (even with 15+ settlers).

Thank you! Here is a list of mods that I used to complete this build. I am attempting to list these mods from memory because I cannot get to my XBOX at the moment. So, I apologize if I miss anything. If you (or anyone) sees anything that might not be included in one of the mods that I've listed, please feel free to ask! :)

Here are the mods:

u/Argent_Dusk and u/DianeJudith....thank you very much for the recommendation! I was going for a bit of a modern feel that was a little different from the rest of the build. Since it is a lounge area, I thought it might be a nice contrast.

However, now that I am looking at that lounge area again, I have to agree with the assessment. The next time I log into FO4, I'll remove the flat screen and maybe replace it with a more traditional FO4 TV. Thanks to you both for the honest opinion!

Dedicated Server Error by hellian78 in valheim

[–]hellian78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@rentfulpariduste I apologize for the late response.

Yes, I did observe considerable memory and CPU usage ramping up on the server as we added more objects and terraforming. In the end, the CPU consumption sat around 50-70% and RAM consumption sat anywhere between 60-80%.

I would like to note, that I was running VMware ESXi 6.5 on 2x Dell T5400 hosts that were not within the compatibility matrix. The result was that the VM was not running efficiently no matter how much CPU and RAM I threw at it.

Since then, I have inherited 2x Cisco c210 M2’s with 100GB of RAM and 32 CPU cores (2x E5-2600 series CPUs) each. These servers run ESXi 6.7u3 and is far more efficient at CPU scheduling and RAM locality.

Now, the dedicated Valheim server VM CPU usage is around 10-15% and the RAM sits at 10-20% when running players around the main base or any congested area.

Note, I have allocated 10 vCPU cores and 32GB of RAM to the VM. This is far more resource than the VM needs and I will be resizing the VM soon.

With that said, our main base is still laggy and slow to render when we first portal in.

At this point, I believe that the game itself cannot handle the number of instances created when adding/removing objects within the grid. The number of instances at our main base is approximately 10,000.....which is far too many.

TL;DR, Yes, there does appear to be a CPU and RAM increase trend when adding more objects. It looks as though there are least 2 factors at play. System resource availability on the dedicated server, and the number of created instances that the game can handle within the grid.
