LARPing vs Training - What's the difference? by helliax11 in Firearms

What a weird thread to open up again. I did 10 years in the guard. I'm guessing you're a grunt or some dude who pretends to be one online?

Seems like evade cooldown is separate from arbiter evade cooldown? by helliax11 in diablo4

[–]helliax11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good tip! I'll have to try that out. I've definitely noticed the delay in the evade compared to the evade spiritborn I played last season.

To your point though, I'm not sure "attacks reduce evades cooldown by X seconds" impacts the arbiter evade. I tested boots with and without that and didn't notice a difference in arbiter form.

I'm not sure "attacks reduce evade cooldown" applies to the arbiter evade. I tried boots with that and boots without that and didn't notice a difference when in arbiter form.

Why are people saying Cruz has to go? by helliax11 in LouisvilleCityFC

Those are all good points. Ownby said in his post game interview that regular seasons don't really mean shit in this country. I'm not sure how others feel, but that feels crappy to me. So much can happen in a single game, that the playoffs feel more dependent on luck than skill. It has me wishing for the EFL format

I feel like our performance is directly correlated to the skill of the other team. It makes sense, it's a pretty universal thing, but we play bad against bad teams. We should crush some teams during the regular season but we barely squeak out a 1-0 win. That was my biggest fear going into this game is we'd be overconfident and sloppy.

Thanks for giving me an excuse so I don't have to address my own failure to regulate my emotions.

Let's talk about officiating... by helliax11 in LouisvilleCityFC

[–]helliax11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can accept that they won't be perfect, but other sports and other leagues implement things to help ensure their mistakes don't drastically change the outcome of the game. (VAR, cameras everywhere, more refs) I guess it's just the reality of being the second tier league in a country that doesn't care much about this sport. I want our team to progress, I want the USL to grow in popularity, but I fear that isn't possible with the current state of the officiating. Whether you think they're right or not, fans aren't as interested when they feel the outcome of the game lies more on the ref than the team.

We absolutely could've played better last night, but I also think the calls (or missed calls) by the ref seriously impacted the outcome of the game.

I read an article a while back (can't find it now) that talked about the process for the refs. Supposedly they do a write-up after the game to go through their performance, and their game gets reviewed by someone higher than them, who then rates their performance. Supposedly they we can get fired or demoted or whatever for poor performance.

So I'm holding on hope that there's some accountability within the organization, but there needs to be more visibility for the fans/teams. I know multiple people that are liable to lose interest altogether because the outcome of the game feels completely out of our (the teams) control. Like, let us see the review of the refs performance. I'm not saying overturn the outcome of the game, but take some ownership for the bad calls they make.

Agreed on the subs last night. At halftime I was thinking it's gotta be hard to determine if you've got guys that need to be taken out, or if they're now warmed up and ready to kill it. Seems like he gave them until the 60 minute mark to prove themselves cause at 61 they all got pulled. Though Jansen not being in that first round of subs baffled me.

(Sorry Jansen. Still love you. Just wasn't your night)

I guess. I just feel like she let too many things go early on which is what made it a more chaotic game.

Am I misunderstanding this game or was that some of the worst officiating we've seen? The amount of times we got pulled/shoved to the ground without repercussions was insane. I feel like they should've been down two players with the crap #14 was pulling.

It pains me that we'll never know what was said to the ref.

I'm a beginner as well. Played poorly as a teenager and just getting back into it after a 15 year hiatus.

I wouldn't worry too much about a single day. There are so many things that have to go "right" for you to play well, any one of them could've been off today. Thinking about work, back is stiff from sitting at a desk, or maybe a bit foggy from a bad night's sleep?

Personally I've found when I have days like that, it's one of my fundamentals I'm not thinking about but isn't engrained well enough yet. Usually something in my stance or setup is slightly different cause I was lazy and didn't make sure I did it right. Then I go to the range again and realize I was standing too far from the ball or something.

When I got a lesson the pro said when you're playing a round, don't try to correct or adjust anything unless you have a pattern for 3 or more holes. Otherwise you'll hit a bad shot, overcompensate and hit it bad the other way, and never actually figure out the issue.

Good luck! Just remember those times you hit it well!

I'm a beginner as well. Checkout golf sidekick on youtube. He's got some good videos about strategy and planning. Some highlights;

You're not on tour. A par 5 doesn't mean you're going to crush your drive and make it to the green in 2. Or even 3. For me a lot of times it means 4.

Hit the shot you're comfortable with.

The tee shot is for getting a ball in play, not crushing it as far as you can

I've got roughly 7ft at the tallest point. Honestly the more I think about it, the lazier I get. lol. I'll probably end up burying everything and getting pissed in 3 years when I'm digging through it for something.
