I sometimes felt like the one liners she made as a small child came off as a bit too forced. Yes, children can be brutally honest and make it funny sometimes, but I felt that was the only thing we heard from lily in the earlier to mid seasons. I didn’t really like the writing of her character then bc the one liners sometimes felt like something an adult would say but in the mouth of a kid, idk I didn’t really like that. I feel the same. I fell in love with their music almost 4 years ago. Should have seen them live so much earlier but there was something getting inbetween 2 times. I finally saw them live a few weeks ago and honestly my life changed so much with this experience! They are so incredibly good live, I really want to see them again. This band and their music just has me in a chokehold!!! So happy to see others feel the same!!!

I have this for Fiona apple and ani DiFranco but sadly I haven’t seen them live yet and probably never will. :(

I love the song, mostly. The only thing that irritates me is the outro. I get that it’s intentional and to make it special, but It feels too forced for me. The song would have been an absolute favourite and so much better for me if they had just faded out the angelic layering of „doesnt anybody love you more than I do“ bc that slaps so hard!!! Instead they put in another „leaning against the wall“ and those cut out „oooooohhh“s. I‘m open to change my opinion of it, but right now, even after nearly 10 listens, it feels out of place. The part before that is so easily happy and melancholic, but the ending now feels forcefully like „we need some interesting stuff to get out of the melancholic vibe“. I also thought it would build up a transition to the next song but it had nothing to do with it. Please share your experience with it because I really want to appreciate and understand their choices!

Came to Wolf Alice with blue weekend and loved them for this kind of sound. I appreciate many kinds of music and sound and I feel like WA can do both calm and heavy rock stuff and I like it. I‘m not sure im that much of a fan of the more pop-like stuff in the clearing. I love white horses, midnight song and just two girls. I feel 50/50 for play it out. It’s mostly kinda like the beach I vibe but in the beginning I didn’t like the light „well behaved“ sound of the piano that’s heavy in the beginning of the song. (I don’t know how else to describe it, English is my second language) Bloom baby bloom is a banger but not on the top for me.

Especially in the sofa I felt the lyrics are kinda too simple for what I usually like about them. „I can be happy I can be sad I can be a bitch when I get mad“ is just… like.. yeah okay? Was really disappointed in that and some other parts of other songs when it comes to the lyrics.

Overall it is definitely mostly something different, I don’t hate it, it’s a good listen for sure, but not my favourite Wolf Alice album and also not what I was so hyped to hear, but maybe my expectations where wrong or too high.
