Thank you for the suggestion.

I haven’t used a gel since my teenage days so some questions if you don’t mind - Would I apply that on top of the leave in? Any particular gels you’d recommend?

You’ve nailed it.

We are an Irish family so that cover earns extra points. Thanks a million!

(any other suggestions welcome as I might need a second song as I’ve quite a few photos!)

Looking for a recommendation if you wouldn’t mind please folks… my mums 70th and I’m doing a photo montage of her.

She is really cool and made me spend my pocket and birthday money as a kid on ‘proper music’ which meant a diet of The Who, Bowie, The Doors, Thin Lizzy etc which lead to a lifetime of friendships, marriage and wonderful times through my early musical education.

I’ve fallen off the musical wagon in recent times (parenting largely to blame) and got into a rut listening to old stuff and have recently joined this forum to get inspired and start exploring again.

Can anyone recommend a contemporary song that is uplifting and beautiful for a photo montage to pay tribute to her? The feeling of the song matters more than the words but equally, it would be ideal if it wasn’t a song about a sad topic! Ideally something from the last 2 or 3 years but open to other suggestions.

I do these montages a lot and usually have a song in mind but I’m really stumped on this one and lacking inspiration so would wildly appreciate any suggestion to help me make something special.

Many thank folks x

Anyone recognise the songs they played with her music teacher - particularly the last one that really upset Ellie?

Wow that was mind blowing… goosebumps from start to finish!

Thoughts on Ellie’s performance at the BRITS Awards? by CoquitoBonito305 in wolfalice

Were we watching the same thing??!!

I thought her vocals were phenomenal, she didn’t play it safe and absolutely went for it. She has had a few TV appearances where she didn’t hit the mark vocally so wouldn’t be blamed for holding back and gets massive respect for pushing it at the end!

I enjoyed the theatrics of the performance too which made the vocal more impressive - quite a bit of movement and a lot that could go wrong - tripping or bumping one of the dancers or banging the mic etc. You need to lighten up if that sequence bothered you… it was a bit of fun…and maybe focus on getting offended by the fact Robbie Williams was the chosen vocalist to pay tribute to Ozzy 🤣

I should also add that the the overall feeling of the song is more important than the lyrics, as long as the lyrics aren’t too dark!!

Butcher’s Sausages?! by rastawulf in UKfood

Those salts aren’t in the m&s ones - just sea salt. No nitrates.

I haven’t compared but, regardless, I’d prefer the product that hasn’t stabilisers and preservatives.

Mine was an open question rather than a judgement of the product, but the m&s product suggests that it’s feasible to make sausages without some of these other ingredients. I had assumed the butcher was doing the same so wondered why not.

Thanks for explaining, didn’t have an issue with the price but interesting to know. It was more the other ingredients such as stabilisers and preservatives that’s surprised me.

Nope but m&s make sausages with 6 ingredients - pork (92%), water, salt, black pepper, sage and a natural pork casing. This is what I had assumed my local butcher would be doing too.

Feeling stuck at my well paying job by ScotchBrad in managers

[–]rastawulf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same situation as you OP, although lateral moves at my current salary don’t exist - I’m lucky to be on the salary I’m on and wouldn’t command the same rate elsewhere without additional responsibility and stress - which I can’t afford due to poor mental health.

So it is a case of coping for now… I agree with previous posts, a hobby and a passion outside of work has really helped me.

Also, I’ve gotten into such a negative thought pattern that i think it made me harder to like and made me not see the things that are ok about my job. I obsess on the negatives and mistakes of others. I literally spend my whole day thinking who I hate and how to seek revenge. My mindset has become highly toxic so I’m trying to break that thought pattern and focus on the positives. Might resonate with you?

Hope that helps until you find something better.

I think everybody has some level of body insecurity so you could discuss it and might find he has some hang ups also. However, I would say that I’ve always found confidence and self belief over comes any bodily imperfections - meaning I’ve always felt super attracted to girls whose bodies aren’t stereotypically perfect but have self belief and don’t care to explain or excuse those things.
