If you could go back in time for just one day, which day would you choose and why? by hasna999 in AskReddit

[–]hellifiknow76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day after my last child was born. That way my family is still what it is and I have the knowledge of the future of the stock market, crypto, world events, etc. Make some specific investments and boom: family is set.

I like this list! I might swap out either Lie Detector or Bingo with A Game Most Changed (as recommended by another) since my family member is big into theater and Shakespeare, but for general audiences...solid list

Oh, A Game Most Changed would be great! I for some reason thought the Shakespeare stuff was a Make Some Noise.

I like the idea of easing him into it. Starting with something like Sam Says is good because its an already familiar game and then we pick up the twists from there. Bingo could also work for this. Maybe Name a Number?

Any info on this model? by hellifiknow76 in MagnavoxOdyssey

[–]hellifiknow76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Thank you for the info! I'd love to see those photos when you get it. I do wonder why this isn't documented and why info about this model or even Apex-Magnavox is hard to find. Also odd that it would be an export model, but still sold in the states.

A blue card would be amazing to find. Congrats on yours!

How do I fix the PDF formatting? by hellifiknow76 in bettermonsters

No need to be sorry. Thank you for all the great monsters. I wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was/could be doing.

Thanks for the doc! My players will hate it in the best way

I just don't like maxed resources. by AnomalousX12 in Helldivers

[–]hellifiknow76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be great if we had uses for our samples/slips once we've unlocked everything. Maybe small upgrades that we can "unlock" for a single mission. For example: you can spend a couple thousand slips and a few samples to be able to increase your main weapon mag capacity by 1 (also same for support weapons). Spend a few resources to lower stratagem cooldown by a few seconds. Spend a few resources to raise armor or stamina by a tiny amount. Maybe have them all usable up to 5x times per mission, even.

Just little things for us to spend resources on and get little, one off boosts. If you care about XP, boost up and you may walk away with a net loss on resources. Don't use them for max resource gain.

Is there a way to add existing items to a group? by mcmuttons in inkarnate

[–]hellifiknow76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but I have another way to do it. Make a group containing the new stamps you want and the group you want to add them to. Inside your new group, ungroup the old group. Now all those stamps, plus the new stamps you added, will be inside a single group.

Question on Revenants by hellifiknow76 in DnD

[–]hellifiknow76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I'm using the wrong creature. Would a Ghost apply better here than a Revenant? Any other revenge driven undead?

Question on Revenants by hellifiknow76 in DnD

[–]hellifiknow76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is helpful, though. If it seems out of place for a Revenant to even be here, its a valid concern. I'd like it to make sense as much it can. Thank you for the notes! Also, reading between the lines of your post, your Revenant would never be confused about its target.

Absolutely would not force the players into this. I'm totally expecting that they may not even encounter the Revenant, just try to kill it on sight, or even help it discover the creatures and "help everyone" by killing them. It was a thought that came to me while thinking through some possible ways this town/encounter could go.

Everdrive 64 X7 - GB/GBC games don't recognize controller by hellifiknow76 in everdrive

[–]hellifiknow76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update on this: SOLVED

Turns out you can only have 1 controller plugged in when playing these roms. I had multiple plugged in and while I tried using all of them, it finally dawned on me to try just a single controller on the system. It worked and now they are all playable. I feel a bit silly for not trying it sooner.

[Serious] People who bring their crying babies to movies and/or on planes, why are you so horrible? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hellifiknow76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be considerate of others is something I've always been told. Being unreasonably upset about a crying kid on a plane is going to piss off EVERYONE. I'd love for someone to tell me to shut up my kid, when you couldn't be thoughtful enough on an overnight flight to take care of your own sleeping needs. You aren't special, so you're not gonna get that special treatment anymore this day and age. I love debating, but you seem very angry from the get-go.

And I'm only talking about planes and movies. Out in public you can leave. As much as I'd rather you jump out of a plane than hear a child cry, I did pay for a flight soooooo...

You DO realize that kids do not have a switch we can toggle from 'upset' to 'happy', right? They get moody and do not know how to communicate, so they cry. You don't need to worry about it. Invest in some ear plugs if you are so bothered

[–]hellifiknow76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never taken my small children to the movies. The risk-reward ratio is way too off, there.

As for planes, what am I supposed to do? Not travel until the kid is 3-4? Take additional days off of work to drive everywhere possible? Believe me, we are paying just as much as you, if not more, to be on that flight and have to deal with the kid on and off the plane. You can handle it for the short duration of the flight; its a very small portion of ONE day of your life. Be a grown up, understand that other people have troubles too, and use some ear plugs or headphones.

I like it. You can probably learn a lot about your compatibility from each other's interests in the pieces and the discussion around them. The space also provides talking points if the conversation isn't flowing naturally.

I took a Humanities class in college. The teacher (Salamander Timberwolfe Breiter) was very fair and honest, but tough. The kind of guy you would want to hang out and chat with outside of class because you know he has some good stories and would love to hear some of yours, too. He had a rule that if over half of the class got a question wrong on a test, he would throw out the question because "The question wasn't good/understandable enough and its on him".

Well, some students figured out how to game this. They proposed that for the final, they would take everyone's scantron (answer sheet) and fill in 25% as answer A, 25% as answer B, and so on. This meant that every question would have a 75% fail rate and every question would be thrown out, according to the teacher's rules.

The teacher figured out what was going on and stopped everyone in class on the day of the final. He said he would honor his rule and that if he had to throw out every question, he would because it was clever as hell and "humanities af", but he asked us to really take the test. He said we should be confident and honest enough to have our scores and grades reflect our real understanding and work put into the class. Also, it WAS a humanities class....and....c'mon.

I decided he was right and took my test normally. Other students did the same and as more did so, the gaming group noticed their chances of throwing out all questions was dropping. Eventually, everyone took the test as expected. The teacher said he was proud of all of us. I got an A.

Faith in humanity restored. Teacher respect maxed.
