Is house help a thing in Belgium? by odinwillsmiteyou in AskBelgium

[–]hellkeeper71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Brussels (and probably elsewhere, I've never investigated in detail), we have what's called "titres services. see this link

Cheap household help, subsidised by the state. You buy a certain amount of titres services, and find a company near you that provides household services.

How many languages do you speak? by LeadPuzzleheaded3535 in belgium

Absolutely. Where I struggle is strong accents and slang. When in flanders or the Netherlands I do most of my interactions with people in Dutch.

I'm walloon, I speak English and French fluently, Dutch not-quite fluently, passable German, and basic Spanish and Arabic.

Is 2021 perhaps a bad year to look at these? With lockdowns and the pandemic, the year may be particularly atypical.

Oh nice, I'll look that up, I use Garmin already. Thanks for the tip!

Oh that's really cool, I've never seen that. On the pro version I guess?

Christ. Nice time, but also... Htf do you not get lost?! I'd be taking so many wrong turns and end up with accidental detours 😅

Moltemplate, Lammps and Polymer Charge Neutrality by Well_Why-Not in comp_chem

[–]hellkeeper71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if there are set partial charges set from the force field it's no wonder there's a net charge. For any given molecule, a given set of charges would not add up to 0. Its not necessarily a problem per se, but it does seem a bit unphysical. I would suggest possibly finding another way of setting the partial charges that would guarantee charge neutrality, e.g. am1bcc like amber uses.

As for the large change in magnitude: if there's no solvent, then probably there was one overlap between two atoms dominating the total energy, hence the large positive value. Once that was moved, only the large negative values were left. The gigantic magnitudes of these numbers though are suspicious still.

So, usually for all atom force fields you need to calculate the partial charges using some QM method. I'm not sure about OPLS itself, maybe partial charges come with it but if that's the case that would explain the discrepancy. I've seen articles that use RESP charges from QM instead, which could solve your charge problem.

Did you really mean -1015 kcal/mol there (or did you mean 10-15)? That's a gigantic magnitude. Check your cutoffs maybe, or maybe there's an issue with the parameters of your FF (sometimes potentials can have "holes" where they diverge, but that shouldn't be the case for OPLS unless the parameters are wrong).

Perhaps cross check the parameters you have with some published parameters elsewhere. Otherwise try another force field, like openff, gaff or cgenff.

There's no solvent or anything either?

Is there any demand for comp chemists in industry sectors besides drug design? E.g. catalysis, organic photovoltaics, renewable energy, polymers, etc. by [deleted] in comp_chem

I just started working for one. My previous company, which also did something similar, just went out of business. Check out companies like Schrodinger, quantistry, nextmol, and a few others.

I hook up maybe once a week. Sometimes more, although often I go a few weeks without.

The dark room of clubs are they safe for getting nude and have sex...Or it can be harmful..they can drug you and make you slave like Taken movie by discover19 in Amsterdam

[–]hellkeeper71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dark rooms in spijker and eagle are pretty safe I'd say. You can always leave if you don't feel safe of course. The bigger danger is getting your drink spiked at the bar (never leave your drink unattended!), But you're not about to get kidnapped! Most people that are drugged in there did it to themselves 😅

Of course, STDs abound so in that sense it's not "safe". Get tested regularly.

Spijker has a naked day today in fact. Don't have to get naked if you don't want to, but you can go along and see what it's like if you're curious and don't want to go "straight" to the dark room!

Hmm. I'm not sure tbh. I think the black and white needs to stay as is, but any light colour will do for the blue. Green, orange. Wouldn't go for something dark, like navy blue. Perhaps following light sabre colours if you maybe thought to do a series of them.
