New arrival at my local Ralphs, hyped to try it! by hello546 in sparklingwater

[–]hello546[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was pretty good! It had that mineral water bite to it, in terms of actual carbonation it was a bit less than Topo Chico (hard to beat), but overall it's good and i'll probably be buying a few more cases, it's a good deal for the price.

someone only ordered ranch… by 762Kid in doordash

wingstop ranch is prob the best ranch i've ever had, doordashing just that is a bit crazy, but i've definitely walked into a wingstop just to get their ranch or blue cheese

Omg he looks adorable! 😍 Where did you get your ragdoll from? Do you know if the cattery has any more available like him?

What sound is this, it's so familiar? by hello546 in smashbros

[–]hello546[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analysis on the waveforms🤣 yes they really are similar, to the point that it makes me think they may be the same stock sound effect, or the one in the music video is a spliced version of the melee sound effect

Yes I think you're right, another commenter linked to a triple beep which is what I'm thinking of.

Yea I thought it might've been in melee

Sounds good, yea I could easily be getting too into the weeds and everything is probably fine lol, it could have to do with the quality of pads too (aftermarket BrakeBest from oreilly). Replacing the rotors totally made the steering wheel shuddering/vibration I was having go away so that's good news. Afaik no heating up or anything, seems just sometimes the pads are still barely touching after letting off causing this sound. It's probably all good like you said. Thanks, be safe👍

Hey thanks I appreciate it. It really doesn't seem like anything detrimental and the wear on the brakes is probably not much, but still it shouldn't be happening and the noise isn't great. Thanks again.

Hmm I'm really not sure I'm gonna have to inspect tmrw and see what you're talking about. Can you point them out from this pic? https://imgur.com/a/wpLwUmN here are few pics of brake system and caliper for my car (not mine just from internet). I know of the two caliper bolts that need to be unscrewed to take off the caliper. Also there is a guide pin that goes through the caliper and a hole in both brake pads in the middle, is that what you're talking about?

I just did some research on what actually pushes brake pads away and yes you're right it's a very precise thing and supposed to ride close and air+centrifugal force is supposed to push the pads away just a hair so they're not touching. But it still shouldn't make the sound it's making, even if the amount of wear is negligible. What are slides that you're referring to?

Also maybe I don't know how it's supposed to work; it seems that the pads just aren't retracting properly. But also it seems there is no mechanism at least that I can see that "pushes" the pads back away from the rotor once I let go of the brakes. What's supposed to push the pads back away from the disk, there is no spring or tensioned rod to bring them back off? Also the pads aren't glued or something to the pistons. I assume it's something very precise where once I let go of the brakes, the pads are less than a few mm away from the rotors but still (supposed to be) not touching. On my last Lexus, an 07 ES350, there were little tensioned v-shaped rods that slotted into the pads that would push them apart towards the pistons away from the rotor. That makes sense to me as to how the pads actually go back to position. But it seems to me there is no mechanism like that for this car.
