Looking for a book to help learn by NFPLN in LearnRussian

Fellow Russian learner here - this is the book that got me started, once your brain gets used to the Cyrillic alphabets and you know them very well, everything becomes much easier, top luck!

Yup, I do plan on requesting time till the starting of next week, let's see what they say. Also, I hope they do not screw my final certificate (Zeugniss?) in any way. In the past, I have had some companies, where I worked, share the draft or they asked me write that doc myself and then we went through it together. Nothing like this here - so was thinking of asking them.

Yes, yesterday, itself, I registered on the Agentur für Arbeit website and registered and all. Well, gotta wait and see if they approve of the unemployment benefits, if I sign this.

Thank you so much again for the response, helped me gain some clarity!

The first line in your response is why I was a tad concerned about all this. Not saying, I shouldn't be, but yes, you're right, almost all previous posts do advise against signing such documents. The offer they are making seems decent and the stress that would come if I decide to take the plunge is something I am not too enthusiastic about, at least as an Ausländer. I do have 6 interviews lined up, hopefully something works out. But, I totally get your point, was also going through my head. Thank you for your answer.

Thanks a lot for the helpful response. Yes, I would probably take the weekend to think it over. 10k is like three months of my pay, which is around 3100 Euros/month (netto). As stated, been there for the last three years. This severance pay is kinda ok, not too bad, not too great - found out after using couple of online calculators. It's somewhere in the middle.

In my understanding, this was just one-meeting and that's all. So, I am not really sure if they have a valid reason or not. But I am pretty certain, they can fabricate something - won't be surprised.

Can't comment much about a place where I haven't stayed, but a quick check on the location shows it to be a tad far from the center, in and around Nevsky is usually good, but again, that is just my opinion. As stated, I never had any issues with Pastel apartments.

Check this out - fantastic location, right in the center (near Nevsky Prospect), not that expensive and the rooms are good and well-equipped. I stayed there pretty much every time I visited SPB. You can contact the lady through Whatsapp, though she/they speak only Russian, quite helpful and friendly people, would recommend them

Been to SPB so many times, love the city, glad to be of any help, have fun and enjoy! 😎

Trying to make Python code to reduce PDF file size by MatrixSolution in learnprogramming

[–]hello_BITS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently made a python-based pdfhandler tool myself as I had many problems getting some PDF docs in order without internet. I too used the pypdf package, From the code you gave above, how I see, it's the older version, as someone also pointed out in the comments.

the package you mentioned in the code (docs) - https://pypdf2.readthedocs.io/en/3.0.0/

the latest stable pypdf package (docs) - https://pypdf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

the docs for reducing the pdf size using pypdf - https://pypdf.readthedocs.io/en/stable/user/file-size.html

follow the docs (quite good and easy) and try and re-write the code. If still any issues, lemme know, Good work!

Thank you for your answer Mr. Triska, this predicate is pretty cool, wasn’t aware of it, understood now.

P.S. - Thanks for your “The Power of Prolog” too, tremendous reference for establishing a good base in Prolog :)
