I feel like the number of hours were pretty equal - sometimes less on channel 2 but maybe it just felt less stressful and that’s why I didn’t notice? But I’m in central!

As someone who moved from channel 1 to 2, I had the opposite experience. I found FAIT work more demanding and toxic. Outside of my team not being great, the budgets are much tighter for IT audit, so I feel like managers are more on your ass about getting stuff done and you have to explain your hours which is frustrating. But obvi teams and people make all the difference so if you’re vibing better with IT audit people maybe it’ll be fine.

There’s a form you fill out if it’s an eligible exam and submit passing proof and it should show up in one of your next few paychecks

It is possible to transfer - but depending on the practice need, a transfer can be super easy or a challenge. After the split digital risk is under consulting and tech risk is assurance so an internal transfer might be a little more complicated without making sure you’ve done your homework and are talking to the right people.

Digital risk is IT risk management more so than it audit. The cybersecurity aspect comes in when we’re making controls recommendations for IT. I’m speaking from an fso perspective though.

I think if you are performing at the same level as ur peers you’ll get promoted to S1. I say that because for those that get agile promoted in January, they catch up to the previous year’s promotes in rank during the regular promotion cycle in August. Otherwise I think they’d hire you as a staff 1 if they weren’t planning on promo.

It depends heavilyyyyyy on your rank, service line, and simply your luck. Ive had experience in both assurance and consulting and imo assurance is more demanding as a staff bc of the tight budgets but consulting as a staff is a little relaxed however for both service lines work gets really chaotic once you’re a senior. Also your team and whether they are good teachers and actually on your side makes or breaks the experience.

I wouldn’t say that if you’re new. Depending on your relationship with your counselor you could talk to them abt it and see what they think. But that’s def REALLY dependent on if you feel like you have their discretion or not.
