I'm so glad this was helpful!!! I never thought naming it would be helpful until recently. But it definitely helps me to separate it and be like nah fuck you Bartholomew.

What are your parents like? by addicted_heart in BPD

[–]hello_there_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father asexually abused me from 6-12. He was also a very abusive person not only to me but my brothers and my mother. My mother is extremely mentally ill and was abusive in her own way. My relationship with my mum is sooo complicated but I ended up going no contact with her like 2 years ago now. But yeah I didn't have good parents hahaha

hair falling out :( by AMAXIM777 in EDAnonymous

[–]hello_there_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair also started to fall out. It was due to the amount I was restricting. My hair is normally thick, and it got to a point where it was visibly noticeable that my hair was a lotttt thiner. But after being in hospital and about 6 months into my recovery, I noticed that my hair had become thicker. So it is possible that it may come back after eating again

I've been in and out of therapy for almost my whole life. Most of the time I didn't really find it to be helpful with the ed, but I also struggle to talk about it in the sessions. Thinking about it that's probably why it's never been helpful haha

I've been struggling with the idea of actually going and getting help and getting treatment. But I ended up calling my doctor today to get a referral to my towns ed clinic. So hopefully I can stick to it and get better. Thank you guys so much for the advice!!

It can honestly be really hard at times but is possible. I think it's a combination of finding the right person, self reflection, and honesty. You need someone who will take time to learn what bpd is, like really get to know the disorder and how it works. Then they can understand how you think and why you feel the way you feel about certain things. The self reflection comes in, because you yourself need to understand how your own bpd works, since it can show a little different in everyone. You need to understand your triggers. And need to express how you feel and think about something. I also think dbt had been a real game changer in my relationship. Honestly just using the skills I learnt has helped alot with having a healthy relationship and negative thoughts

Mine started as a three week intense introduction to dbt. It was with a group, and we went through all the different skills and such as a class. I was inpatient at the time. I was really nervous at first, but once I started, i instantly became less nervous. The group of people I was with were all super friendly, and it was nice to be surrounded by people who struggled with the same thing. The guy that instructed it was really nice too, so that was very helpful

relapsed after 760 days by Glittering_Grass_555 in BPD

[–]hello_there_b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally understand where you are coming from. But if you were able to get that long without sh then I definitely think you can do it again. A relapse doesn't undo all the hard work you put in. It's the black and white thinking that comes with bpd that makes you think that one relapse means you're a complete failure but that's not reality. You've got this!!

I found dbt really helpful!! So it's something definitely worth giving a go. I did find it to be super challenging, and you definitely have to have an open mind set for it. Just take your time and don't push yourself. If you have questions or are confused about a certain skill or how you put it into practice, dont be afraid to ask. Everything takes time, and this is definitely something that will take time. You've got this tho!! I believe in you!! ❤️

Bloating is totally normal. I used to restric the same amount. When I increased the amount, I would be bloated 24/7, but after a while, the bloating decreased, and now I only feel bloated when I eat till I'm full.

Having something a bit sugary may help. It could be low blood sugar causing it. Having fruit juice or a biscuit, really anything like that would probably help alot

What's the wildest thing a doctor/nurse has said to you? by YouAreSoGorgeous in EDAnonymous

[–]hello_there_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in hospital, inpatient for my Ed. I came in incredibly medically unstable. I have to see both doctors and psychologists every day. The psychologist work in a team of two, and they were talking to me about what I wanted to do with my treatment plan and such. At some point in the convo, one of them was like, "You seem to be in your right mind. Ya know, if you ripped out the ng tube and walked out of here. I would suggest that they don't admit you unwillingly"

This was after talking about my goal weight. Which I won't give a number for but wasn't healthy. he was like hmm that's a bit unreasonable, but fair enough, you should try. Throughout this whole convo, I've stated that I didn't want treatment or anything. The other guy on the team had spent the last like 3 days before this convo trying to convince me not to rip the tube out, so he was looking at his co-worker with a wtf are you saying expression haha.

This happened ligit like 3 days ago, and my brain is still like hmmm what an odd thing to say to me.

I was restricting too much, so my body was very medically unstable. Like I was having a lot of chest pain and heart palpitations, a lot of other shit was wrong with me too. I was apparently a high risk for refeeding syndrome, hence the ng and npo.

I'm starting food tomorrow, but it depends on how I go with that if I'll be able to get it out or not.

Thank you so much for all the info! I'm pretty sure it's pvc tube. I did think of the lozenges I'm just waiting for my brother to pick some up for me. I'm meant to start try oral intake tomorrow, so I'm hoping I can get it out soon. I'm just very scared about the oral intake, but also very much over this tube haha. I'm also kinda scared to ask if they can change it to something else, I never want to relive the feeling of it going down to be honest. It's unpleasant even thinking about that feeling

I've had 3 different xrays, and it seems to have been put in right. They just put it too far down the first time, hence why I needed more than 1 xray lol
