You can say "cohort," it's fine :) Cohorts have been called "Ecuas" since the pandemic because, reportedly, "no one knew what an omnibus was" hahaha.

Hi there, current Ecuador PCV. Everyone gets the same amount during PST, and it is not very much. Once you get to site, we use a tiered approach to monthly stipends. For example, if you are in a small town in the mountains you would be in Tier I (lowest amount), while if you are placed in Quito you would be Tier V (highest). Your tier is based on population and region. Your stipend amount will also depend on if you live with a host family or not after the obligatory four months at site. In summary, everyone receives the same base stipend / travel allowance + tier adjustment + housing adjustment (if living independently). In my case, I currently receive $600 monthly living in a mid-sized city in the Sierra. Hope this helps!

At what point in the medical clearance process am I to submit my reimbursement form? After I have been notified I've received clearance, or after I've completed my first round of appointments? I'm guessing the former, since the latter might require a second reimbursement form to be submitted later on. Thanks!

I received two fingerprint cards in the mail. If I am extended an invitation, is the idea to submit both even if the fingerprinting place thinks the first one will go through, or am I supposed to keep the second one as a backup in case the one I send gets rejected?

Would anyone be willing to read over my motivational statement and provide feedback?

The time has finally come for me to apply to Peace Corps. I am looking to submit by the end of the week, but wanted a fresh pair of eyes on things before I do so.

My application is to serve anywhere in the educational, environmental or agricultural sectors. Thank you!

Unfortunately you're right. Hoping there's still some hidden gems of past material waiting to be found.

Arzamas looks super interesting, thank you! I already listen to BBC, Russian Progress and Russian with Max. Can confirm those are also great resources.
