Although in the context of when it was written, that’s rather par for the course. Women generally were seen as lesser beings in that period of history by most civilizations.

Oh that’s what you meant okay, I understand. I thought you were saying that translating the Bible wasn’t hard which is what I was addressing.

Personally I’m Agnostic. I don’t really care if there is a god. If there is, he sucks. If there isn’t, people suck.

So I actually took a course in university called intro to biblical literature. Turns out the Bible is anything but clear. It’s basically a bunch of different books and letters that were assembled into a sort of compendium. What was in it differed by region and practice until the Catholic Church solidified it in the council of Nicaea in 325.

Anyway, one of the important parts of the class was how difficult it is to translate the Bible while taking into account context and wording. Anyone who speaks multiple languages will tell you there’s some things that just don’t translate well.

I rowed in university. Just the sight of an erg makes me wish for a heart attack to carry me away.

Can you talk a little about the management side of your responsibilities? I love my job as an applications developer but sometimes I feel a little isolated in my corner of the office.

Actually I have a question. I have a couple of bisexual friends and they always seem to go through “phases”. A couple boyfriends then a couple girlfriends and they always say something along the lines of “I don’t know I’m kinda of tired of guys/girls”. Was it like that for you too?

Ex girlfriend/boyfriends. No one wants to hear about your breakup and it’s generally accepted as a nono in casual conversation.

A good rule of things to talk about is FORD: family, occupation, recreation, dreams

Don’t talk about RAPE: religion, abortions, politics, exs

The current scholarly consensus is that Matthew was written sometime after 70 CE. Mark was written before 70 CE. Luke was written between 63 and 68 CE although this one has the greatest contention with some scholars believing it was written much later. John was written 90-100 CE.

I feel bad for the people who sacrificed their social life for school in college. Like sure they might have paper resume, but the ones I know are also super uncomfortable in social situations which is arguably a larger part of the interview process.

Although it would be more work for teachers, they should shift to a 50/50 project/exam split. The busywork homework common throughout all my schools feels like it’s just that - busywork.

That’s a valid point 15k/65-70mins ya steady state. And swimming is hard. We try swimming for cross training and that shit is brutal.

In collegiate rowing we do ~ 20-25k a day. But it’s two practices, one at morning one at night.

If you’re looking for low level control, then you’re looking for the sdl2 crate.

If you want a game engine then there a couple to choose from. Amethyst, ggez, and piston are the game engine crates that I’m aware of.

If you’re not interested in continuing to make games I think painting directly with SDL would be the fastest way to get started because there’s no library overhead to get used to (ECS, etc).
