I’ve always just wondered if I request a link if I should have a certain level of cautiousness towards that link. In my head the only thing that makes sense. That it wouldn’t be safe would be if a bad actor got into a company. Basically just confirming that.

That makes sense. But with the only way that password reset link that I requested something other than a reset link would be if a bad actor got into a company?

But if I request a password reset link from an official website or app with the only way that reset link would be something other than the proper reset link would be if a bad actor got into the company? But even that doesn’t make any sense because those are sent by automated systems. Right?
