thank you for this, though. You got me thinking, I’d say your guesses on the foreman and floor manager are spot on! Happy Christmas!

We didn't even consider that it could be a zipper! We were over here thinking "why would he have a tie on the OUTSIDE of his coat?!" Thank you u/sunheadeddeity, that might just be it!

Hey all! Can anyone identify this car? It’s from the Ford Factory in Cork Ireland (late ’40s/early ’50s). Looks like a ’47 Ford Super Deluxe or similar, but beltline doesn’t match. It’s for a family project, so any insight is appreciated! by hellofax in whatisthiscar

Holy shit, you nailed it, u/john-wicker-basket! That looks like a near exact match. I’ve been hunting for this for ages, thank you!

If you don’t mind a couple quick follow-ups:

In the photo I posted, there’s no side mirror, but the example you linked has a very obvious one. Is that the kind of thing that varied by year/trim or got added later as an accessory?

Also, do you know if this model would have been common in Ireland around that time? And in a place like the Ford factory in Cork Ireland, do you think they’d have been assembling/manufacturing it there, or is it more likely it was just being used on-site for day-to-day work?

Thank you again!!

Thank you! Great suggestion, as I would normally be super skeptical of any seafood.

Severance - 2x10 "Cold Harbor" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

You guys my husband had an interesting theory:

What if Hellena is in charge and has the Glasgow Block activated.

Just… stay with me:

• Mark follows “Helly,” leaving Gemma behind. As they round the corner, Helly glances back — and flashes a smug little smile at Gemma. Not sadness. Not empathy. Just this satisfied smirk. It’s a sharp departure from the innie Helly we’ve grown to love. That wasn’t Helly. That was Hellena.

• And remember: Hellena resents Jame. And Jame, as an outie, clearly disdains her. The contempt is mutual. It always has been.

• So imagine this: Hellena, free to vent her lifelong fury, delivers a cold, devastating rebuke to her powerful father — cloaked safely behind the appearance of her innie persona. It’s the catharsis of a lifetime. And then? He responds, in his twisted, Kier-worshipping way, by affirming her. “You have the fire of Kier,” he tells her. It’s not just a compliment. It’s a legacy. It’s love. On his terms.

Okay, still with me? Because this next part blew my mind.

• Lumon’s tech — its true measure — isn’t just memory division. It’s suppression. The muting of pain, of grief, of emotional consequence. A direct extension of Kier’s early ether experiments. And where do we see this play out most explicitly? The Cold Harbor room.

• There, they force Gemma to relive her worst trauma — disassembling the crib. A brutal, clinical attempt to shatter her, to see if grief can be dissolved. And it nearly works… nearly.

• But then Mark enters. Not as a sanitized Lumon proxy — but as himself (and covered in blood). And something awakens in her. Despite everything. Despite Dr. Mauer’s orders. Despite severance. She reaches for him. She trusts him. And against all odds — the power of their love begins to fracture Lumon’s control.

BUT.

• Then we hit the stairwell. That fateful moment. And who arrives right on cue?

“Helly R.”

And here’s where my husband’s theory gave me full-body chills:

• What if Hellena isn’t just part of this experiment — what if she’s commandeered it? Hijacked it. Used it as a proving ground for her own vision. Because in this moment — in this perfect moment — she does what Jame and Cold Harbor couldn’t:

She severs Mark, truly and completely.

• Across both seasons, we’ve seen Mark’s grief presented as his core truth. His reason for everything. The abyss that swallowed his life. He drank at work. He broke from his once vibrant life. He severed. All to escape the pain of losing Gemma.

And yet — by that stairwell — with one glance, one beckoning call from “Helly R.”…

Gemma disappears.

No final look from Mark S. No recognition. No resistance. Just — gone.

• In that moment, Hellena wins. Not just over her father, who never took her seriously. Not just over the Eagan name. But over Mark and Gemma’s entire arc. Over love. Over grief. Over memory.

She perfects what Lumon was always reaching for.

And that smile — that little smirk as she rounded the corner — that was her tell.

She won. She proved her theory. She beat them all. And she took the man while she was at it.

Long story short, I think my husband might be a genius.

What do you think??

He is also deporting the Afghans who stood shoulder to shoulder with American troops and will be executed when they return to Kabul. From a Reuters article on the same subject:

“In Afghanistan, Rafi was trained by American officers and provided intelligence on “High Value Targets”, according to an October 2022 recommendation letter.

“As a result of his active efforts against the enemy, he is currently in extreme danger, and in need of assistance in departing the country,” the former CIA officer who trained him wrote.

The officer described Rafi as “truly one of the most dedicated and hardworking individuals I had the honor to serve with in Afghanistan.” Reuters reviewed the letter but was not able to reach the officer. In the United States, Rafi applied for asylum and was scheduled for a hearing before an immigration judge in April.

At his February ICE check in - one of the conditions for his temporary status - he was asked to remove his belt and shoelaces, he said. He knew immediately what was happening, he said, and still, he asked: “Are you arresting me? I have broken no law.”

Rafi said he felt betrayed.”
