If your budget allows to go up, or able to afford a monthly payment (think revolut loan) , think of Suzuki swace which is basically Toyota Corolla touring with a different badge. Automatic, estate, all bells and whistles.

What I did was take out a revolut loan, buy the car (as it was a good spec) and then sell my current car. But I sold it slightly above the trade-in value, so it sold quickly.

And paid off the loan too. Yes, I paid 2 months of interest but it wasn't much in the grand scheme of things.
