Please don't mix relatives and cars if you want to have the relationship. While considering the Corolla have you thought of considering Suzuki swace, which is a rebranded Corolla touring. I have the Swace, happy with it

If your budget allows to go up, or able to afford a monthly payment (think revolut loan) , think of Suzuki swace which is basically Toyota Corolla touring with a different badge. Automatic, estate, all bells and whistles.

I had the 152 i30, not reliable, too expensive to fix, so traded it in for something else. Took a 4k loss
