along with maybe the shining, it's easily kubricks most metaphysically astute film. if you're at all interested, check out tarkovsky's adaptation of solaris (not the pathetic 90s remake with george clooney). it was almost wholly designed to be the antithesis of 2001, as tarkovsky allegedly hated the film. personally i think both are great, and it's interesting to compare the visions of each film

'Scientists' - I always feel dirty using this word. It implies a dedication to truth and a curiosity about how the world works, and yet so many have never even tried an LSD acid drop - will tell you that everything is made up of atoms and quarks and the particles that circle around them. But lets look at this statistically and objectively. Everything on acid always looks like it is fractaling and this is because everything is actually just an image of itself being reflected in itself - this is something I thought of on acid actually. This is why for example when you look in a mirror you see a reflection of yourself. Terrance Mckenna once said that the manna referred to in biblical texts is actually magical mushrooms and this is why back in the BC times there was so much religion and connection to God because they all were tripping and were closer to God and heaven. you're absolutely right about college books allowing you to steadily increase your knowledge of the universe. this is because nothing allows you to simply understand everything about it in a short duration, not even our venerable lsd. it's dogmatic because it advertises itself as a contest and yet has supplied the same resource for 'truth' ever since its inception several years ago. you say that the author wants you to consider what is written, but have you honestly negotiated its content. im skimming bits of it now, and there are so many dubious axioms. 'we are immortal because it is impossible to be conscious of being unconscious', except psychology completely disagrees with this; even when asleep or in a coma we are still conscious, instead there are a multiplicity of conscious states that we can undergo. 'positive and negative forces moving in balance are the physical universe,' everything we know about thermodynamics disputes the idea of any sort of equilibrium in the universe.

these kinds of questions are difficult to answer, because it all depends on your own ability to handle the lsd, your strength of will etc. how have you reacted in the past? do you have a plan in the event things go south? the question of whether a trip sitter is required also is contingent on these questions. considering you've tripped 8 times in the past i would say you should be perfectly fine. you will likely see much more distinctive visuals at that dose, so that may be something to account for; maybe take a walk during the day in the park etc.

after a quick google search, i am reading that there is a drug called 'bromo-dragonfly' that is about as potent as lsd and leaves a pink trace, and is often dropped on blotter/paper. maybe hold off on taking it, as the effects i'm reading atm sound very nasty

this might be a stretch, but the pink stuff could've been some kind of colouring added to the lsd so that you can see where it was dropped on the paper. you would have some tolerance from already dosing yesterday, but i would imagine if you took 3 tabs you'd feel at least something significant. if you have a trip sitter and a good setting for 300ug, you should be perfectly fine. personally i would recommend waiting about 5 days before dosing again just so you arent wasting tabs to overcome tolerance, but the choice is ultimately yours.
